REALITY: I Personally Know a Guy Who Was Ripped-Off by Trump for a 7-figure Amount...

He stressed that Donald Trump was never to be trusted,
for the man operates utterly devoid of principle

What happened is the NY attorney I know -and his lawyer sister- had done business with Trump, and in fact had all but won a case for him that resulted in a substantial cash settlement, to which the attorneys where contractually entitled to their % cut once the lawsuit was done. In this particular circumstance, the fee was to be over a million dollars, and it wasn't the first time they had worked with The Donald.

So when it all fell their way, Trump suddenly overnight fires these attorneys who brought him to victory's doorway so he wouldn't have to pay them the
% fee rightfully due them... then he hired some schlubbs who worked for a low hourly wage to do the paperwork and wrap up the already in-the-bag case.

Ever the ruthless opportunist, Trump found a hole in the contract he did with my friend, that the deal allowed them to be fired -for zero cause- and paid an hourly pittance for their work up to that point... totally violating the spirit of the contract, what a scumbag. He offered no explanation, and afterwards would not return their calls. 'Art of the Deal' indeed~

I was told this story back in 2012, when starting to flirt with the idea of giving Trump a little support on my site. The (conservative, registered Republican) lawyer friend -a man I trust utterly- went on to tell me the above story, adding that Trump simply didn't have the principles to hold such a powerful position, and that it would probably be better for us all if he just stayed in the real estate business and screwed people over there.

You can now see this shocking lack of principle in Trump's disingenuous and dishonest attacks on Ted Cruz... seems my friend was right all along.

Trump obviously can't compete with Cruz on the issues- and he couldn't make that any more apparent than with his current deplorable behavior.

Fantasies, mental breakdown for suggesting Trump is less than ethical in his business negotiations? Lol, I have read some of your posts to this thread and think you are the one who is becoming unhinged. So I’m done here, just thought a rational person would want to hear that their guy Trump isn’t all he says he is and one thing for sure listen carefully.......any politician who has to tell you over and over again that they are nice, is trying to reinvent themselves.

Your observations make sense to me.

Especially given the fact that lawyers know how to get paid when payment is due.

My attorney had a personal lien against a notorious racketeer for years. Renewed it every 10 years, as I recall.

It’s not theft if you’re abiding by the terms of a contract.

It’s stupidity on the part of the original lawyers that they entered into a contract expecting to reap millions but left a clause in the contract to allow Trump to get away LEGALLY with paying only thousands.

If the lawyers had included that clause for it only to be exercised based on some assumed condition, that assumption needed to be part of the contract.

The important thing here is how would Laurence Tribe apply English Common law to the case. /sarc

I know even more people who are routinely ripped off for 4, 5, 6, and 7-figure amounts by the US Government.

Two attorneys write and sign a poorly constructed contract. Then whine about it. LOL!

Well, “real smart” FReepers believe every little word that TRUMP (BLESSED BE HIS NAME) utters.

CAVEAT EMPTOR ... what you get is “as is” (with a glossy new paint job to hide any and all “imperfections”.

Isn't that just another way to say "savvy businessman"? I look forward to President Trump negotiating with our enemies... They will not find a friendly Muzzie there!

Ever since he wrote The Art of the Deal, Trump has been the world's most famous negotiator-even though he didn't reveal his actual deal-making secrets. Now, George Ross explains the tactics that too Trump to the top and how you can use those same tactics and strategies in your daily negotiations. A practical, real-world negotiation playbook, this is the ultimate guide for anyone who wants to negotiate like a proven winner.
