Katherine Jefferts Schori has opined that Islam, Judaism and Christianity are "Abrahamic faiths" and are therefore on an equal footing. However, Islam claims that it is not like Judaism and Christianity. Consider this teaching of Islam: "Asserting one's religion does not mean that you simply leave people to worship whatever they please without comment, like the Christians and the Jews do. It means that you must clearly and plainly disapprove of what they worship, and show enmity towards the disbelievers; failing this there is no assertion of Islam." (From Al Wala' wa'l Bara by Muhammad Sa'eed Al Qahtani) Al-wala' wa'l-bara is an Arabic term meaning "loyalty and disavowal" and it refers to Islamic loyalty toward fellow Muslims, and enmity toward Non-Muslims.
Katharine likely never heard about that in the politically correct educational environments where she earned her degrees: Stanford University, Oregon State University, and the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley. On paper and in practice, Schori is 100% politically correct... and dead wrong when it come to her understanding of Islam.
Under Schori's leadership the Episcopal Church sought to embrace diversity. This extended to equality for homosexuals and partnerships with Muslims.

Islam fails to be an “Abrahamic” religion in one very important respect - NONE of the writings of the Jewish Torah or the Christian Old Testament and New Testament are allowed to be consulted by the practitioners of Islam.
Zoroastrianism was much more of an “Abrahamic” religion than Islam ever was, and it was driven from Persia and most of the Middle East by the howling bloodthirsty horde of ignorant camel jockeys in the 7th Century. So much for ancient “freedom of religion”.
Truth was very much the first casualty of the Islamic Jihad as led by Mohammed Ali, subsequent to his homicidal psychotic break.

Epsicopalians are not Christians, so it’s not surprising they would not understand the difference between Christianity and Islam. The Episcopalians don’t believe in the Bible or that Jesus is the way to salvation; they basically worship homosexuality and are more a leftist political group with medieval Catholic religious trappings.
Striving to not let my feelings rule me, I will use Bishop Schrod’s title as it was legitimately granted by my birth Protestant Episcopal Church of the US (PECUS). She is just another reason I no longer attend the Episcopal Church and probably it is one of the quickly shrinking “Main Line” churches.
One of my principal animuses towards her is that she has actively attacked traditionalists within the PECUS and attacked break-away congregations with legal actions that deprive them of the sanctuaries that they have PAID FOR by claiming that missionary funds were used as provided by PECUS. The fact that the funds have been greatly repaid in past years meant nothing.
One need not be Christian to be elected to the position of bishop. But one has to be a a consummate politician, and know which “pinky rings” to kiss....
It requires a supreme effort of willful ignorance to not see the main differences between Islam and all other religions on planet Earth.
Obviously she has not read the Bible and the Quran and studied just how different their teachings are. One is a religion of love for one another, the other is a politicals system masquerading as a religion and uses hate and violence as its basis of power.
