Hurricane Patricia -- the strongest hurricane ever recorded -- weakened slightly as it barreled closer to Mexico's Pacific coast, with sustained winds decreasing to 190 mph and gusts to 235 mph on Friday afternoon, the National Hurricane Center said in its latest advisory.
Residents are bracing for potentially catastrophic 200 mph sustained winds and torrential rains.
The excessive wind speeds, according to the head of the Mexican agency that includes its national weather service, "makes Patricia the most dangerous storm in history."

What’s the topography of the coastline there like? If it’s very flat, it could be tantamount to one of the recent tsunamis.
Yep....we only have about three decades of accurate satellite data on hurricanes....we have NO CLUE what went on before that.
Most dangerous storm in history? Horsecrap.

Well, if it wipes out half of Mexico it will amount to about $1,300 in property damage.

OMG did we have a LOT of fun - and barely avoided some big-time trouble, too. Hand. Of. God. 100%!
I think we packed more interesting adventures into 2 weeks than either of us have had in the past 45, LOL!
Many years ago. I’m not a fan of south of the border or the Caribbean. I am a tour director, but I always turn down jobs to go to those areas.
So....I don’t GAD about mexico (sue me) but I am concerned about Texas. Does anyone have a forecast for the Lone Star state?
The baloney graduates of journalism schools often write is incredibly short sighted.
That’s phenomenal. F5 for hours. Unimaginable.
But for those on the beach...they cease to exist.
Heard possibility of 12-14” over a few days.
Two prime opportunities here.
1. It’s global warmings fault.
2. Lotsa refugees. Just let them roll across the border. We gotta help them, we gotta save them.
