It means “conservatives” who chose to either stay home and not vote, or vote for a third party, simply b/c Romney was not their perfect candidate.
I spent all of election day making calls as directed by what passed as his ground game and it was about the biggest waste of a day in my life.
Thank you, you three.
Romney lost because he sucked, just as we will lose if Jeb, Rubio, Fiorina, Paul, Kasich, Christie, or Huckabee make it on the November ticket. The GOPe could win a staring contest.
I just voted for Goode (Constitution Party)

Don’t blame conservatives for the fact that the GOP decided they wanted to run a socialist against a socialist and bored voters to death.
I don't know if you're endorsing this idea or simply explaining it but the idea is wrong. Many who withheld a vote from Romney did so because they were in states that were either solidly red or solidly blue. In other words, their vote didn't matter. That was my case.
Also, there is a big difference between a "not their perfect candidate" and an unacceptable candidate. I have frequently held my nose and voted for the former. Romney was of the latter category (no pun intended).
Romney blew the election entirely on his own.
His cowardice, and failure to give voters something for which to vote (”Not Obama” ain’t a platform), combined with his own record (Massachusetts Care and Liberal Judges) made him a truly lousy candidate. He DESERVED to lose.
Just spell out the word “because.” It’s not that difficult.
I get tired of that “not a perfect candidate” position, implying he was basically ok.
He was in favor of abortion, obamacare, assault rifle bans, open borders, etc.
Basically he was a white Obama with red white and blue bunting and would seem palatable. But I cannot think of any qualitative way he would have been better than Obama. It would have only been a more organized, slightly less Marxist version.
And as for McCain, may God help me, but im actually glad now that Obama beat him. I think McCain is quite literally insane and would have started WWIII. As disgusted as I am by Obama, a McCain presidency I think we would be a radioactive smoking ruin.
It means conservatives who chose to either stay home and not vote, or vote for a third party, simply b/c Romney was not their perfect candidate.

Oh, okay...sorry for MY confusion. Don’t think I had all synapses firing when I responded to you! :-D
I agree with your assessment BTW!
