In August, my colleague Charlie Cooke wrote an epic rant daring the Left to stop talking about repealing the Second Amendment and start doing it. Introduce the repeal to Congress, work it through the states, and tell the American people what you want to do take from them a fundamental, enumerated right from the Bill of Rights. As Charlie eloquently outlines, repealing the Second Amendment is an impossible task. Even worse for the Left, its political suicide.
But if the Supreme Courts decision in Obergefell v. Hodges teaches us anything, its that the age of judicial supremacy means that five justices can amend the Constitution far more efficiently than Congress and the state legislatures. And right now there are clearly four Supreme Court justices who are committed to the absurd view that the operative clause of the Second Amendment the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed doesnt actually mean the right of the people and therefore doesnt encompass an individual right to own a weapon, even for self-defense. This view defies history yet is received, conventional wisdom on the judicial Left, in much the same way that its received, conventional wisdom that the Constitution actually protects rights to abortion and gay marriage.

7 regular military to one guerrilla?
I see now. Nobody corrected you on is thread so you thought it was “all good” to post your vanity.
I recall a “dynamic raid” to enforce gun control some time in 1993.
Between the direct incident and subsequent 1995 retaliation, 244 died and 640 injured.
Where? Which country?
USA.
Waco TX, Branch Davidian (religious cult) compound siege. Precipitating event: alleged failure to register NFA guns with a $200 tax. Dynamic raid with media invited to publicize; 4 cops killed in initial raid, most occupants died in eventual fire when feds moved to destroy the occupied compound.
Oklahoma City federal building: enraged by the Waco event, a couple, um, psychos blew up the building on the second anniversary of the siege end.
Everyone is forgetting that in such high tension issues, the nuts are most likely to make the first and most severe moves. Most people on both sides are unlikely to side with David Koresh or Timothy McVeigh, but they acted first when the SHTF on gun control.
And yes, ONE raid to confiscate guns resulted in 244 dead.
No. It. Isn’t.
The USSC has not the authority or power. I haven’t even read the thread yet.
Noted. Thanks for the reminder.
Noted. Thanks for the reminder.
You're correct, but in the age of 0bama the U.S. has become a 3rd world nation.
Molon Labe.
I sincerely doubt there WOULD be any havoc. Have you seen the 18-30 year olds in this country and their view on guns?
We're not one Supreme Court justice way from losing th Second Amendment, it's ONE GENERATION away from being voluntarily surrendered.
The SCOTUS can declare a Constitutional amendment to be unconstitutional? Especially after DC v Heller just a few years ago?
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953 about 20 million dissidents who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1911, Turkey established gun control From 1915 to 1917 1.5 million Armenians who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1918 Germany established gun control and in 1938 Adolf Hitler banned Jews from owning any firearms. Then, from 1939 to 1945 approximately 6 million Jews and 7 million others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1935, China established gun control From 1948 - 1952 some 20 million political dissidents who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1964, Guatemala established gun control. From 1964 - 1981 100,000 Mayan Indians were unable to defend themselves and routed up and exterminated.
In 1970, Uganda established gun control. From 1971 - 1979 300,000+ Christians who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1956, Cambodia established gun control. From 1975 - 1977 1 million "educated" people unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated. (Guess they weren't educated enough!)
In the 20th Century, some 56 MILLION people were rounded up and exterminated because of GOVERNMENT GUN CONTROL which turned each of the countries above into GUN FREE ZONES.
Do Guns kill people, or do Governments who strip the basic right of self defense from its citizenry kill people?
The answer should be obvious!
The Supreme Court cannot repeal an inalienable Constitutional right.
...
They’ve already shown that they can redefine words, and come up with new law out of thin air. Be prepared for the worst. Our rulers want total government.
Sir, there are a whole bunch of us older American Military Veterans who are just waiting for this fight; let them bring it on, screw the young folks who are anti-gun, they will die along with the other cowards.
As for me, I have nothing to lose but my freedom and dignity, it won't be easy to take them though.
This broken down 55 year old who can barely walk sometimes would be honored to join you and the rest of our vets in battle. I may be slow, but I can hunker down and I'm a damn' good shot. 30 years of hunting helped me get that way.
I feel your frustration with todays yutes, I feel likewise.
I also believe that if the current regime thought they could get away with disarming us, they would have already tried.
They know better; liberals may be dumb but usually they're not suicidal.
Correction: I’m 53, not 55. Dang.
