If the college had not been a “gun free zone” there would have been the possibility that someone would have put down that deranged animal before he could have Killed. Perhaps the topic of conversation should be “why do we allow gun free zones?”.

The blame for this rise is clearly tied to the Democrats, with Obama leading the charge for the last seven years, and very effectively I might add. Which is why we have seen the largest rise during his Presidency. His Presidency has been all about creating a fractured society, pitting as many varied groups against each other as we have never seen in this country before. United we stand , divided we fall, and that after all is Obama's true goal. That's why he supports Iran getting nuclear weapons, so their chants of "Death to America" can be realized at best, and a real possibility at the least.

I can barely think of any, I think one happened a few years ago in a bank robbery, but other than that, they rarely happen. Why? Let me get this straight - a bunch of Christians in a “gun-free zone” are murdered by a killer raised on a diet of anti-Christian bigotry by the schools and media... and the response is to call for disarmament of Christians in the rest of the country? Because that’s effectively what they want. Why not just openly call for genocide against Christians because, you know, they deserve it for not being “enlightened”?

If there is a failure in this, and there likely is, then it's in the way we identify people like this and direct them to treatment. And not on how we obtain guns.
Agreed, there can never be any guarantees. Obama is making this ulta political knowing full well nothing can ever 'PREVENT" THIS SORT OF THING. It's like saying we want to prevent auto accidents, can't be done. We can however reduce these shootings on campuses by allowing armed officers on the campus and even armed employees as well as armed licensed students. We also MUST address our nation's culture in dealing with the mentally ill and how to better help them.
