UPDATE: In his own words Ahmed Mohamed, 14, an Irving MacArthur High student essentially states he knew taking the device to school was controversial. Listen at 1:26 video: I closed it with a cable, so because, I didnt want to lock it to make it seem like a threat so I just used simple cable . so it wont look that much suspicious.
Update#2 We are not the only people to pick up on the admitted intent. Follow THIS LINK To see exactly how it was engineered and the kids story gets even more sketchy.

“Welcome to ISIS 101, kids. Make things that look exactly like suitcase bombs, but just don’t have any explosives. That way, people will stop reporting suspicious-looking IEDs.”
Yes, this is about the kid getting arrested for a clock.
This genius has been all over that thread shouting about SUITCASE BOMBS (it’s a pencil case) and BOMB TIMERS (clocks) that look NOTHING LIKE A CLOCK (numerical display and commercial circuitboard). This was the post where he rounded the bend from Wrongsville into Crazytown.
Welcome to ISIS 101, kids.
Today’s Lesson: How do you get people to lower their guard.
Step 1) People have been told, “If you see something suspicious report it, call 911.”
Step 2) Start making people report stuff that looks like it might be an IED, but turns out it isn’t. Make things that look exactly like suitcase bombs, but just don’t have any explosives. But they should have timers, and wires and digital readouts - everything except the C4. Call them “clocks.” Or “inventions.”
Step 3) Do that repeatedly, and start bashing the people who made the reports. Make them feel like fools for crying wolf. Ridicule them for calling 911. Make them appear to be complete idiots. Make them look Islamaphobic. Call them out. Get them fired from their jobs if you can for calling the cops. Get Barack Obama to call them out and make them seem like fools. He’ll help. He’s on our team.
Step 4) That way, people will stop reporting suspicious-looking IEDs.
Step 5) Now you can bomb grade schools with complete impunity, because citizens will be too afraid to call 911 to report suspicious looking packages. They won’t want to look foolish. They won’t want to be called out by President Obama. Happy hunting!
Thus endeth the lesson.
Are you a complete idiot?
That second picture is not a “suitcase bomb.”
“Are you a complete idiot?
That second picture is not a suitcase bomb.
***
No, it’s a Les Paul guitar. Chill, you muppet.
I mean, if you show something that isn’t a bomb, and then claim it is just to make some dumbassed and incorrect point about this kid’s gadget, isn’t that intellectually dishonest?
Aren’t you engaging in the same type of intellectual dishonesty that Democrats and the MSM engage in all the time?
FYI The source for that picture is Pam Gellar’s website
lol..project ill intent?..would a kick in the balls fix ya or do u need them kicked up your a$$ before u get it?????????....’Ill intent”..lol....UDMF...
What is it then?
I’m sorry that Pamela Gellar is repeating falsehoods. It’s not a bomb. I did a quick search, and it appears that it’s a Honeywell security system sales demo kit.
It is BLATANTLY not a bomb. There’s no detonator and no explosives. It has a transformer for wall power. It has a large motherboard, which is clearly not required for a bomb.
In other words, this photo is some techno-illiterate’s Hollywood-influenced idea of what a suitcase bomb would look like, not the real thing.
It’s apparently a Honeywell sales demo kit.
“I mean, if you show something that isnt a bomb”
The kid brought a suitcase which looked like a bomb which spooked the kids, then claiming it’s a ‘clock”. I’ve never seen a “clock” that is half suitcase and wires sticking out of the “clock”.
and there are also articles about the father being a radical on FR.
I can read your former posts vehemently defending the kid. I respect that but in this crowd, you are a minority.
The kid took apart an alarm clock, put it in a box, and brought it to school. He shows it to a teacher who sees electronics flopping around inside a box. When questioned the kid is evasive and eventually says it’s a clock.
What do you expect the school to do when presented with what appears to be an improvised timer?
Now the kid is going to see lawyer. Surprise surprise. It is another of his father’s staged “islamophia” events.
How would you know by looking at it? A pound of C-4 could easily be pressed flat into one side of the case and covered with cloth giving it an identical appearance to this...

And it wasn’t even for an assignment.
That’s not a bomb either.
Test run for a real bomb
I detect some xenophobia on your part.
No, it’s a pic of the kid’s “clock.” Duh.
It would be a bomb if you pressed a pound of C-4 into the side of it and wired it to the clock. Even better put a layer of ball bearings in before you put the thin sheet of C-4 in and you’ve got an improvised claymore mine.
Riiiiiight. You don’t need the guts of a Radio Shack alarm clock to make a detonator...
...and if I packed your car full of ANFO and wired a blasting cap to it, your car would be a bomb. Shall we have you arrested on that basis?
