UPDATE: In his own words Ahmed Mohamed, 14, an Irving MacArthur High student essentially states he knew taking the device to school was controversial. Listen at 1:26 video: I closed it with a cable, so because, I didnt want to lock it to make it seem like a threat so I just used simple cable . so it wont look that much suspicious.
Update#2 We are not the only people to pick up on the admitted intent. Follow THIS LINK To see exactly how it was engineered and the kids story gets even more sketchy.

Very Observant Miss Marmelstein, I noticed that right off the bat too.
If I weren't on my phone I'd find the pictures of the ISIS fighters doing that.
What do the Israeli’s do? Do Palestinians attend public school?
Please spread that about, KC. No one but you and me seemed to notice that. You have to be very alert with muzzies - although I think they give themselves away very easily. But people have been lulled to sleep!
Part of Muslim privilege
Apparently you are unaware that youngsters in islam are taught to kill infidels
Wow. Talk about twisting words. He said that he understood that a device could look suspicious, so he took specific steps to make it look less suspicious and less threatening.
You do note that I included that in the list of bomb components. Timers have a place in ordnance. This particular shape-charge mold might not have a use for a timer, but other ordnance does.
The point is, the folks in Irving got played. They allowed themselves to be gulled into overreacting. Zero is the beneficiary.
Absolutely disagree. They took prudent measures (by informing authorities), but they had a measured response (by not evacuating the school or charging the jihadist kid).
It is CAIR and the enemy media Propaganda organs that deceitfully call themselves "The News". They are the overreactors.
Comes a day you will be banned. Mark my words.
Not me.
Look down at the rest of the thread; it appeared he spoke outside his expertise arena, and actually told me *I* was speaking outside *mine*... lol.... turns out I actually have some experience in threat detection, only 6 months, but 6 months nonetheless. Wrote a simulator for a late-1980's E.G.G. Astrophysics x-ray machine that placed images of threats into real luggage, to test the operator's attentiveness. I learned what the four threat markers are for explosive devices.
So I actually outclassed the fellow....
We made up later in the thread when I realized what made him so upset was CAIR and the press publicizing this obvious dry-run event.
Oh look, you’re baselessly calling the kid a Jihadist, and yet I’m the troll, because I actually looked at what the kid said, not the article’s 180-degree spin.
::yawn::
If “Ahmed Mohammed” wasn’t looking to create a problem, he wouldn’t have built something that looked exactly like a suitcase bomb. What clock looke like that?
Have you ever tinkered with electronics, or known a tinkerer? At this kid’s age, I spent plenty of time taking things apart, reassembling them, etc. The interesting part is the process, not what it looks like in the end.
And that’s not a “briefcase,” the photo is cropped to make it look bigger than it is. Look at the plug next to it for a sense of proportion. The case is not much bigger than a person’s hand.
Media being playednext time the Clock will be hooked to C-4.
What would have happened if he brought one of these “clocks” to the White House?
Then why didn’t he say that? He spent all his time telling his fellow freepers they didn’t know how to either build a bomb or an alarm clock like he did. Not exactly focusing on the issue, lol!
I would prefer to ship everyone of these muzzies out of the country. They’re certainly not for a strong America. They all want us destroyed.
And as I pointed out to another poster, what if this kid had just showed up at the White House with his “clock?” Secret Service would have pinned him to the ground and the interrogation would have been much worse.
“...so it wouldn’t look that much suspicious.”
Maybe in English class he should have been paying attention to the grammar lesson instead of plugging in fake bombs.
He built nothing! At 14 I was rebuilding motors, helping build houses and was a pretty damn good welder. This kid took an old digital clock apart and screwed the components back into a small case. He was trying to draw attention and it wasn’t for his inventive skill’s, I also suspect his father played a part in it.
I just placed the plug end of an extension cord on top of my hand to compare. Now, admittedly, I have a small hand, but still, I don’t believe his case is near the size of a hand...not even a man’s.
Taken together with the pic of the smiling, happy Muslims and the activist father, well...
Oh look, you are defending the Jihadist kid who's father set him up to do a bomb-desensitization test run.
Why Free Republic tolerates you, escapes me. This is not the first time you have defended the liberal, GOP-e elitist, or Jihadist side of things. If you wish, I can collect and present a long litany of such defenses. Perhaps it will get you banned at long last.
