Donald Trump Is an Affront to Anyone Devoted to William F. Buckley’s Legacy

Donald Trump, Counterfeit Republican By GEORGE WILL August 12, 2015

In every town large enough to have two traffic lights there is a bar at the back of which sits the local Donald Trump, nursing his fifth beer and innumerable delusions. Because the actual Donald Trump is wealthy, he can turn himself into an unprecedentedly and incorrigibly vulgar presidential candidate. It is his right to use his riches as he pleases. His squalid performance and its coarsening of civic life are costs of freedom that an open society must be prepared to pay.

When, however, Trump decided that his next acquisition would be not another casino but the Republican presidential nomination, he tactically and quickly underwent many conversions of convenience (concerning abortion, health care, funding Democrats, etc.). His makeover demonstrates that he is a counterfeit Republican and no conservative.

He is an affront to anyone devoted to the project William F. Buckley began six decades ago with the founding in 1955 of National Review — making conservatism intellectually respectable and politically palatable. Buckley’s legacy is being betrayed by invertebrate conservatives now saying that although Trump “goes too far,” he has “tapped into something,” and therefore

Once respected the ‘wisdom’ of this old *art. After hearing his remarks this week when speaking on the panel w/ CK, and Laura Ingram found my high esteem had been directed to a very crooked person. The man is a phoney...just as much as the rest of them. DT is certainly not perfect, he is loud, but the man is now much more respected than the faux George Will. Angry with blood shooting out of my eyes doesn’t began to express the feeling. All said....thank you to DT for bringing all the cockroaches out for us to exterminate. That’s the opinion and I’m sticking with it.

Not to be confused with career politicians who make their fortunes out of playing the game of politics, this time we have ourselves a businessman who ain’t in it for profit. Far as I can tell, he owes allegiance not to any individual or party, but to the USA.

George Will (whose wife is working for Scott Walker) also made a grand and pompous pronouncement about Almighty God, essentially saying that God is just a myth, God is just a delusion, God is just a mere non-existent nothing.    (See this link for one quick example reference.)

Also, this other article says, "Asked whether he [George Will] was cheered by the rise of gay marriage, he coyly told me, 'I’m not depressed'."

George Wills Wife works for Walker.
He may as well take a sabbatical for a while.

“But the assumption that today’s Trumpites are Republicans is unsubstantiated and implausible. Many are no doubt lightly attached to the political process, preferring entertainment to affiliation.”

So Trump is reaching that huge middle better than ANY OTHER Republican has been able to do.

Isn’t that what we keep being told is necessary? Hmmm.

Im more than willing to agree with you and everyone whos supporting Ted Cruz. Hes the real deal. 100% .

Trump already began a run at the presidency a few years ago. I appreciate that he’s been taking some stands that otherwise might yet not have made it into the world of the mass media. I dont however think hes presidentual material.

Given the current crowd of republicans, is that a bad thing? Just look at the real republicans. They won’t defund Obamacare, EPA, IRS, Common Core, Obama’s amnesty plans or Planned Parenthood. They won’t fund a border fence, fight for voter ID or a flat tax. That’s even when they control both Houses.

Trump manages every day a personal fortune bigger than the annual budget of 14 states.

great hes qualified to do that

Being a leader of the Free World requires a different “skill set” than wheeling and dealing..a..”skill set” which he does not posses nor seem interested in developing.

Maybe treasury secratary??

Tell it to Jeb Bush or Bernie Sanders when they’re sworn in.

In 08 it was all “Ha Ha look where John McCain is in the polls, Fred Thompson is gonna win it all. I was right and conservatives were wrong.

in 2012 it was all, ha ha look where Mitt Romney is, Newt Gingrich is gonna win it all. I was right and conservatives were wrong.

Same thing happens again and again, you clowns who don’t post for years at a time ooze up out of the mud and encourage it.

I refuse to read any more anti-Trump articles being pushed by RINO’s. If everyone else did the same they would quit writing them. They seriously need to stop trying to influence this election process simply b/c they, like the RINO’s, are in bed with Special Interest

At this point in the evening I hesitate to “guess” what could be more disturbing than murdering unborn unfants. Parting them out is a minor compared to their wholesale laughter

Donald Trump is beginning to sound more and more like a real Republican everyday (as compared to today’s run of the mill mealy-mouthed RINO statists who are passing themselves off as Republicans).

Secure the borders. Get a handle on immigration. Cut the regulations. Cut the spending. Cut the government. Cut the taxes. Make the government smarter. Get a handle on the debt. Strengthen the economy. Bring capital and jobs back to America. Strengthen our military. Make America great again! And make the world respect us again while we’re at it.

This is why I say that if by some chance a Rep wins the Presidency in ‘16, and it ain’t Cruz, that the country could do well to have Cruz on the Supreme Court.

Mikey, Soros hates America. That’s a YUGE difference...and, certainly, not a fair comparison.
