While casting himself as Americas new constitutional savior, Trump has shown reckless disregard for fundamental private property rights. In the 1990s, he waged a notorious war on elderly homeowner Vera Coking, who owned a little home in Atlantic City that stood in the way of Trumps manifest land development. The real estate mogul was determined to expand his Trump Plaza and build a limo parking lot Cokings private property be damned. The nonprofit Institute for Justice, which successfully saved Cokings home, explained the confiscatory scheme:
Unlike most developers, Donald Trump doesnt have to negotiate with a private owner when he wants to buy a piece of property, because a governmental agency the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority or CRDA will get it for him at a fraction of the market value, even if the current owner refuses to sell. Here is how the process works.
After a developer identifies the parcels of land he wants to acquire and a city planning board approves a casino project, CRDA attempts to confiscate these properties using a process called eminent domain, which allows the government to condemn properties for public use. Increasingly, though, CRDA and other government entities exercise the power of eminent domain to take property from one private person and give it to another. At the same time, governments give less and less consideration to the necessity of taking property and also ignore the personal loss to the individuals being evicted.

Don’t care. Anybody attacking Trump at this time is attacking the conservative Zeitgeist. Take your cue from Ted Cruz. Let him be, he’s making it easier for conservatives, not harder.
We needed effective in-your-face campaigning with strong pushback on the BS PC, now that we have somebody willing to blaze that trail “Fox News Contributors” are going to pile on?
“The facts don’t quite support the narrative.”
This fact overrides it all: Trump wanted the property and made the offer, but Ms. Coking didn’t want to sell. So Trump dragged her into court over it. And he’s a “100%” supporter of the Kelo decision, whether people are ambiguous about it or not. Property rights are fundamental in this country, and Trump has shown he doesn’t honor those rights.
But Trump is still self-identifying as a Democrat.
We were rightfully against Romney (and countless other RINOS) because we knew they were closet Democrats.
But now Trump admits he's one, and we're going to excuse it? I won't. I can't.
I wasn’t aware of all that. Now this makes much more sense.
Someone posts facts about your dear Donald, do try not to take it personally. If he’s used eminent domain to build his empire, he’s no small government conservative.
Yeah, I’m just making it up.
Forget it. I’d provide a link, but there’s no point.
Yep.
What do you call a man who attacks a decent conservative lady in such a manner? A gentleman?
Flame on
.
>> “Your slander against DT on this thread...” <<
.
Sorry troll, but truth is not slander.
Donald Trump has lived his entire life as a wicked Mammonist, and no good can ultimately come of that pursuit.
You defend the indefensible. Trump’s mis-characterization of issues has done nothing for the ultimate success of the solid candidates like Cruz and Carson, and if he actually runs (in a Turd party, the only route open to him) it will further the chances of the Democrat candidate.
.
All he knows how to do.
Disagreeing with your characterization of “my dear Trump” is not flaming. Besides, you are one bringing the kindling, wood, kerosene, and matches to this thread and others.
Actually, I’m cool with the anti-Trump junk that’s on FR. Proceed on your (paid?) mission.
I remain still 100% for Ted Cruz, yet not railing against Trump because I see how DT is benefitting TC’s candidacy.
I think you a re missing the point. Trump is is supposedly in the lead and the media is promoting him as a conservative and people are believing them. Sure, Pataki has points of criticism , but at this point who cares? Trump is the
Left most of all 17 candidates and is using the media tty of cover for that. At least most people know where Bush is coming from. So why should Pataki get equal attention to Trump? You are basically saying ignore the truth about Trump, even though his whole candidacy is a fraud.
