it’s time to start shooting looters as a matter of official policy,

I have been pretty consistent in purveying that insight since the Watts Riots. The "whiff of grape" is what stopped riots dead in the past. It is effective and tends to prevent more riots. The National Guard wouldn't have to mow them down. Just very publicly and in front of the now ubiquitous cameras, pick off individuals in the act of smashing windows or throwing molotovs. It would stop. Then round up the leaders, try them, and hang two or three of them, publicly and expeditiously.

Well, within the context of ghetto trash who assault store owners then attack a police officer while trying to grab his gun, etc. Those lives don't matter ... at all.
