GIVE US A KING!" or "THE MADNESS OF KING SAUL"

Donald Trump's despicable comments about Megyn Kelly are God's mercy toward the U.S. We've been allowed to see the madness of Saul in time to reject him. If anything has ever illustrated our debased view of manhood (as explained in the Intro to my book 7MEN), Donald Trump is it. He is not gentlemanly or chivalrous or heroic. He is a win-at-all-costs Saul who would mesmerize us for a time and lift our hopes, only to destroy us in the end. His viciously nasty comments toward Rosie O'Donnell were not what a gentleman says about a woman, no matter who she is or what awful things SHE has said. A gentleman would never have stooped to that level. Would George Washington or Abraham Lincoln speak about a woman that way? We've fallen very far that we would tolerate this behavior. One also might observe that it was Megyn Kelly's JOB to ask the tough questions and he OUGHT to have been prepared for that question, and OUGHT to have had a good answer, a la "My comments about Rosie O'Donnell were absolutely out of line and I sincerely apologize for them. There was no excuse for that. I also apologize for going over the line in my comments toward John McCain." Had he said something like that he would have INSTANTLY made REAL news and would have risen in everyone's eyes and would have appeared statesmanlike and presidential and strong -- NOT weak. But alas, that's not what he did. So sad, but God's mercy, in the end.

Donald Trump is not fit to be President. He proves Megyn Kelly’s query about his misogyny by practically telling Megyn that she can scoot off on her menstrual cycle — sheesh!

Female + blood = menstrual cycle?

Really?

Geez.

You Just do not GET IT ...or you are purposely fanning flames of FALSE understanding - A.K.A. you are using non facts to LIE..

Trump has said OPENLY that his threat is only a threat as long as the GOPe / RNC Treats Him Fairly ... not try to screw him over .... It is the reason Trump can campaign without being back stabbed at every turn - not just with the first debate fiasco.

That is a perfectly good thing to ask... And Trumps Threat is the only thing keeping the GOPe from steamrolling him more than they have.

Without Trump — the only name in the media would be JEB JEB JEB JEB JEB JEB ...

...the man has a very liberal history and an abrasive nature that will not work on the national stage.

So you missed the Fox News/Facebook debate on TV the other day?

I believe we could call that a "national stage." 35 million viewers.

Trumps numbers increased after that.

I believe there are reruns on Fox News of the NATIONAL STAGE debate that you can watch to catch up.

Cruz is my favorite — but Cruz cannot get to the top — without Trump the backers of Jeb Bush would drown out all others.

Trump has had a meeting with Cruz and gave Cruz money for his campaign. Sounds like VP to me.

I agree that Trump is no conservative. Only a moron would think he is a conservative. If he runs third party he should call it the Moron party because only dummies and low-information people will fall for his empty bluster. He reminds me of Huey Long who was a politician with a big mouth but was an extreme liberal.

Trump supported tax hikes, single payer health care and the Clintons only a few years ago. I haven’t and won’t drink the koolaid.

Garbage. “Empty bluster” Trump gained political traction because he was literally the only major figure loudly objecting to deportable criminal aliens murdering our daughters.

Beltway “conservatives” have been silent for years while criminal aliens murder, rape and rob their fellow Americans. If there is any “empty bluster” it is located inside the beltway GOP. You’re picking the wrong target, FRiend.

I am not a big fan of The Donald.

I stand with Ted.

But Trump’s comments about the bottle blonde ego maniac who hogged nearly 40% of the debate time are well deserved.

Kelly is as liberal as they come and I do not consider her either ethical or a journalist

Trump came out a winner at the debate and he maintained his lead. However, Trump works best when he dominates the discussion and as the field narrows the mods are going to have to give more exposure to candidates like Cruz. Cruz is Trump without the liberal baggage, he has fought the establishment, he has won cases in front of the Supreme Court, and we know where he stands. I like Trump, but he’s Johnny come lately to conservativ causes.

>>You notice how these ***holes start with “Don’t be stupid,” thus basically saying that we aren’t as smart or enlightened as they are to see what is so obvious for the “rubes”? Think I even saw a FReeper call Trump supporters rubes over the past couple of days.

Remember that Progressives always think that they are smarter and more enlightened than we are. Trump is neither Conservative nor Progressive, but he is more Conservative than he is Progressive and by a large margin. On the other hand, half of the men on that stage and all of the moderators are Progressives.

How many times has the GOP nominated a “conservative”? Once? Nixon, Ford, Bush the Elder, Bush the Younger, Dole, McCain, Romney....? Suddenly, when Trump runs, we discover the virtues of conservatism. Just long enough to purge whomever necessary to make room for the designated decidedly non-conservative Establishment choice. There are a few obvious reasons behind the Trump surge and first among them is that rank and file conservatives do not believe that the Republican leaders already in power are actually conservative (Boehner, McConnell...). So the existing leadership class pointing out that the insurgent candidates are not conservative is hardly an argument that actual conservatives are likely to find particularly compelling. Plus, talk is cheap. Is someone more conservative because he talks about building a fence or is the true conservative the guy who will actually do it? Does anyone actually believe that a Bush (or Huckabee, Rubio, Florina, Christie...) would in fact secure the border? I know I don’t! I also think there are some fractures developing in what it means to be conservative. Most of us agree that real conservatives favor a strong national defense. But does that imply a Bush / McCain / Linda Graham interventionist “global democratic revolution” or something more restrained? Most conservatives agree with the concept of free trade but is expediting the building of auto factories just over the Mexican border really “free trade” and the conservative position or is it just shooting ourselves in the foot? My point is that there is good reason to not believe that many of the candidates will follow through on what they promise to do and that defining conservatism can be tricky.

Also, are we looking for a president or a dad or big brother? Remember the quote attributed to Admiral King during the Big One about why he was called out of retirement to head the Navy - something like ‘when things get tough, they call for the sons of bitches....” So maybe Trump is a SOB and maybe that is what is needed. IDK. We’ll see.

"What is appealing about Trump is that if we can't get a conservative, at least we'll get somebody that will STAND UP to Liberals and the media.

Trump is pro USA, he has all the right enemies and he fights. Maybe he is not a conservative but he is definitely not a bought and pay for uniparty hoe.

Megyn Kelly’s question was stupid; I wanted to hear about issues and policy. Trump’s answer was equally stupid, which makes it less inappropriate than her question. I don’t care about Rosie, but his comment was merely low-class, and it didn’t change my opinion on his suitability for office.

Trump would certainly be immeasurably better than Obama, an admittedly low standard. Just as obviously, Cruz would be immeasurably better than Trump.

I wish Trump’s supporters and detractors would get back to real questions:

How would Trump cut federal spending?

How would he secure the border and enforce immigration law against criminals who are already here and against their employers?

How would Trump repeal Obamacare, and would he replace it with economic freedom or with some other big government program?

How would Trump protect our Second Amendment rights, and which of the many useless existing gun laws would he repeal first?

Does Trump actually believe that his “one-time” tax on wealth would be a one-time event and liberals wouldn’t push to make that precedent another annual tax?

He has many good and bad positions, and I want to see him justify both sets of positions, not talk gossip about some chubby actress.

Yeah, well the G.O.Pee isn’t conservative either. After rolling the dice with the G.O.Pee for the past 16 years, I’ll take a chance on Trump. As long as he isn’t a complete liberal, he will be more conservative than the G.O.Pee.
