If your Primary or Caucus were being held TODAY and you could only vote for either TED CRUZ or DONALD TRUMP, but not both, and nobody else, who do you vote for and why?
Cruz.
Trump is the anti-Truman: speak loudly and carry a limp stick. After calling Mexicans a bunch of trash, it turns out he’s limp on amnesty, after all. Pro-Life? Just since he’s running for president. Hell, he once called Clinton the greatest president of his lifetime (over Reagan) and said Hilary could be even better. Said her health care plan was pure genius.
How do his fans not see that as outrageously poor judgment? How do they reconcile that with an anti-amnesty, pro-life, pro-growth, anti-tax platform NOW?
Cruz or lose!
Ted
I don’t appreciate being treated as a witness but if you insist. Trump will become bored with this whole process. Anybody that has studied human behavior will see he does not have the attention span required to continue this process for another year and a half. He requires virtual instant results and moves on to the next challenge.
He is a brutal businessman that will crush his opponent and is very quick to pull the trigger with his short and hot temper. A behavior trait I am not too keen on with his finger of the nuke button.
As his popularity wanes and more information becomes available about Trump, the businessman as well as Trump the person we will see him falling by the wayside and eventually he will quit. I say he will quit because if there is anything he despises is losing or finishing second. Second to him is like kissing his sister.
But damn, I like him in this race right now as he is a “telling it like it is” kind of guy, saying stuff no other candidate will.
I can agree that if and when his popularity wanes, Trump will ride off into the sunset. But right now he is riding way higher than I ever expected when he declared. I thought his verbiage on Mexico was poorly written and delivered. And he did not have to get into attacking McCain on his war record. ut if he can survive that, he has Teflon. Frankly I am surprised at his poll numbers in NH & IA.
But never argue with success. Always bet on the horse who is leading.
Let Trump finish bulldozing.
Never bet on a quarter horse when the race is at Belmont.
hahaha a quarter horse never leads at Belmont or in Kentucky Derby. May be only at Balmoral sulky races.
All American Futurity, Ruidoso, NM. Used to be the richest horse race in the world. May still be.
1/4 mile race.
No question about it, I’m all in for Ted Cruz (from the beginning)!
He is a reliable constitutional conservative American patriot and statesman.
He has the record, understanding of our situation, the course that must be taken, and the know-how to navigate that course. He’s got the energy, work ethic, desire, and ability to energize a grassroots uprising (like Sarah Palin) as well as the ability to attract necessary donations from patriots not cronies.
Cruz is the whole package.
Limbaugh/Cruz ticket! I know Rush always say he can’t take the pay-cut but look what a pay-cut Trump would have to take! lol
Otherwise Cruz.
Trump is still in the running.
Cruz is number 1, but I’d take Trump over 80% of the remaining field.
Cruz. Duh. (If I may say that.) I think Trump will get bored and angry and annoyed with not being worshipped properly, and bow out of the race anyway.
In the long run I favor Cruz, but Trump is doing things no one else will tackle.
* * *
Agree. Trump is leading the charge on several difficult issues, and I think Cruz in particular understands that and appreciates it. But the guy who leads the charge often takes a load of shrapnel from the cannon. It’s not a position with long-term prospects, one might say.
I never criticize a volunteer.
Petraeus is a criminal and servant of the Usurper.
Which would you rather have given to you today, a Lamborghini or a Range Rover? A dumb question that will never be offered you in real life.
We will never have Cruz vs Trump and no one else for the R primary. What is the point of the question? The response will not tell you anything.
FReepers (and nobody else in the country) overwhelmingly would have elected - still would - Ted Cruz as Pres if it were up to them. Realistically, he has very little chance of winning the nom. NOT ONE DEM will vote for him. Either ideologically, they are liberal and wouldn’t choose him, or they are low info and have been “taught” that he is a crazy religious freak.
Now, with Trump surging, we have a chance to get Trump To nom with plenty of low info and fed up voters of all stripes. And, bonus, if Donald takes Ted as Veep, we get Ted as a potential nominee in 4-8 years.
This question was dumb.
No question - Cruz
