Man Faces 6 Months in Jail For Disagreeing With Feminists on Twitter

A Canadian man faces 6 months in jail for disagreeing with feminists on Twitter, a case that one journalist warns "could have enormous fallout for free speech."

I read a few comments on the lack of free speech in Canada. I would modify this somewhat and give instances where to an extent there is free speech. Since everything is rigidly controlled however, not everyone would see it as free. An example is the existence of these redoubtable Canadian blogs.

Small Dead Animals.
Five Feet of Fury.
Free Dominion.

The charge of "no free speech in Canada" does sadly have merit. Free Dominion was shut down for a while due to the machinations of a Toronto lawyer. The monetary fine broke them. They are now back. This man was employed by the Human Rights Commission of Canada (so called). He left them and was employed independently. He bought a number of cases to his former employers. They found for him ten out of ten times and two not determined either way.

This man masqueraded on other really far out right wing blogs, not these three. He posted vile racist comments under a pseudonym. Like he was an absolute wacko. He then complained with the Human Rights Commission that the blogs committed an offence by allowing these racist comments.

Someone tracked the Internet Service Provider origin. It was sent from a young woman's ISP. She had no knowledge herself. It was the hot shot lawyer. He got a rap over the knuckles only , it being said "it is very disturbing".

This is why some of we Canadians love Free Republic. (Chuckle)
