Begin with the end in mind Im not trying to convince anyone that Donald Trump is running a campaign to actually win the GOP nomination.
Factually, Im as uncertain and perhaps more skeptical as the next person. However, given that Trump has actually done things he normally wouldnt do if this was a mere publicity stunt (ie. stock divestitures, removal of conflicts etc.), for the sake of intellectual argument, Im going to assume, cautiously yet optimistically, hes in it to win it.
Argument #1 After all, hes been a democrat, an independent, a Republican, and well, I have consistently despised Charlie Crist.
Counter Argument Then again, what about Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, and Orin Hatch, and Lindsey Graham, and John McCain, and John Cornyn, and Thad Cochran and, well, you get the point . Whats the difference between supporting those consistently Republican Republicans only to have them advocate for liberal/progressive policies.
Are the aforementioned better because they didnt change party registration, yet act like Democrats?
Let me first explain something few fully comprehend and fewer still, are willing accept.
People like us rail against the establishment because, despite the GOP claims to the contrary, they never actually do anything to stop the liberal policy agenda. One only has to look at President Obamas veto record (four in 6.5 years) to accept that only legislation Obama agrees with is reaching his desk.
We gave the GOP the House (2010, 2012, 2014) and the Senate (2014) and yet we never have received a single benefit to the election victories We The People provided.
Why is that?

Mr. Trump will be on Hannity’s tomorrow night, too.
As do I.
Yep. Really.
Thanks for the heads up, dear onyx. Will be watching.
Yes he has. He knows how to run a business. He's done payroll and Way beyond that, written many books, etc. Let's try a real working American businessman for President. As sundance points out, what do we have to lose?
I think that was the message he was trying to say. He rambles. HE could and should have a video produced to get his message out.
I had not picked a candidate waiting for the debates. Cruz was any top
It wasnt till after my friend and I started sorting out their strength and weakness that this unique characteristic hit us
(It also eliminated several completely)
Not so sure.
Donald is about the Donald.
Lol....I’ve recommended The Art of the Deal for years. It IS required reading for anyone in sales/business. I learned a lot from it, when I first read it back in ‘88.
The author writes about the problems with Florida. Romney astroturfed Gingrich into the ground there and Newt was done. Since Florida changed winner-take-all 99 electoral votes it has crossed my mind how to win that state from the Establishment. Florida is where the eGOPe have been stacking the deck a formidable defense against all comers. Trump can wrestle that state from them making them cooked like a well done steak.
He has a strong personality. Many LEADER fit that mold
When I went out Sunday evening to one of our local clubs(very Polish) I told my wife I had to get out of the house and argue politics. I hadn’t been in a good “discussion” in a long time. Six other guys at the club and they ALL love what Trump is saying. One is a Republican but the rest are VERY union oriented Democrats.
.
This article is big.
Take some time and read it carefully. - Sobering and food for thought.
Good find, Art in Idaho.
Agree. I’m tired of paid for, career politicians telling me what’s best for my business, family, etc. They’ve NEVER managed ANYTHING, yet they’re the *experts*?
I want the guy who’s had to sign the front of the check, not the back.
I have trepidations,
I have seen him bluster down this road before.
A Trump administration would be the most entertaining thing in the world. If we all survive it.
Bottom line. Trump would shellac Hillary in the General.
Amen to that. Puts a whole different perspective on things, doesn't it?
How many people in the Beltway have done payroll?
Trump is my second choice. I’m still supporting my Senator Cruz from my state (Texas)
Just got an e mail from Amazon. I had been there the other day looking at Trumps books. The email makes it appear like he’s got a new book out (laying out his plan.)
Or have I misinterpreted it?
I’ve read it - twice!
Wall Street financiers are the problem. They back either Hillary or Bush.
Trump makes his money the old fashioned way: he builds things, operates them and makes money.
I’ve heard some very snooty comments about why fundamentalist Christians shouldn’t vote for Trump. Well, Jesus Christ he isn’t! Neither was King David.
It will take someone with lots of money and lots of courage to bring America back to what it was — a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
Very interesting. Thanks for the ping.
