A Colorado man is being hailed a good Samaritan after rescuing an abandoned German shepherd whose muzzle and legs were taped shut.
On Saturday, Carl Allen and his friend were on their way to a car dealership when they noticed the pooch stranded on the road. He quickly jumped out of the car in disbelief, calling the scene terrifying.
At first, the 8-month-old dog was so frightened he began to urinate on himself. Thankfully, a passerby came to help Allen and the two were able to remove the tape.

The best dog we ever had was our German shepherd Duke. He was intelligent, affectionate, easy to train, and he got along well with our cats. When Blanco, our big white tom cat, developed an open sore on his head that later turned out to be from a tumor that would take his life, Duke would lick it in an apparent attempt to alleviate it.
Let me find the man who did this and see if anyone rescues him ....
I’m thinking about that movie with Steven Seagal. In the opening some chump throws a bag out his car window.
Seagal sees the bag land and that something inside is moving around.
He inspects the bag and finds a puppy inside then, looking into the distance, says “ Please God. Let me run into the man who did this”.
At the end of the movie, he does run into the man and practices his field goal skills on the guys nutz...
That poor animal has been traumatized, and will remain to some degree that way the rest of his life.
Kudos to Mr. Allen, and his friend for their efforts.
So sad.
May God bless the guy who helped that poor dog.
[whoever did it needs some chainsaw justice]
Thank you to the kind gentlemen who saved the dog.
I better leave it at that, I’m really angry.
“Though he was bleeding and in pain when he was brought in to the shelter, she said, “his tail did not stop wagging.”
“He was just happy to see everybody who came in,” she said. “He shows the resilience and true nature of dogs, which is unconditional love.””
Just guts me.
Odin and Djinni were rough housing tonight and one of them yelped.
The noise lasted maybe a half second but it tore through my soul.
I will never get the sound of Halla screaming during her seizure out of my head, if I live to be a hundred.
I just cannot imagine inflicting agony upon an animal, like ^that^ up there.
Dunno if the influx of dopers with the new laws, someone that lives there would have to say.
It was a sane, patriot state when I lived there many years ago. Something bad has happened, at least in the urban areas, but what else is new?
Perfect!
It’s funny how that meme popped up *after* I started saying “Chainsaw justice” for animal abusers and pedos.
I distinctly recall being judged as “too barbaric” by some, for preferring that method.
;D
Great photo
I would have opted for one of my usual endeavors of just tossing them in a wood chipper....
Yours seems more satisfying...
It takes longer.

How anyone could do this to an 8 month old puppy boggles the mind. Our 9 year old dog is part of our family and is at the vet for what may become a life ending decision. The vet says he’s got slipped disks in his lower spine. If he doesn’t respond to treatment, we will have to put him down. We’re praying he will show positive evidence of healing. We won’t know for a week.
When we picked up our German shepherd Pup he had Parvo. It took several days at the vet, about $400 and a few weeks for him to recover.
I don’t understand people.
I have 2 German Shepherds pups, one is a mix. I love them so much and can’t imagine how anyone could be so cruel.
They could have put him up for adoption.
Dear G-d.
The sort of person who would do this to a trusting dog is just a hop, skip and a jump away from committing atrocities on people.
Unbelievable how people can take out their anger or frustration on an innocent animal. Our pets depend on us 100% for their needs. Some people are just despicable.
GSDs are the most wonderful, loyal dogs in the world. They would do anything for us.
Bless Mr. Allen for stopping and helping. Bless the passerby that assisted. They helped a poor, helpless creature that someone just threw away (and wanted to die an agonizing death). I hope the doggie gets a loving home.. with someone who truly deserves such a sweet heart.
