Presidential candidate Ted Cruz will be at FoxTale Book Shoppe in downtown Woodstock on July 3 to promote his new book A Time for Truth: Reigniting The Promise To America.
Admission is $30 and includes a first edition copy of the book. The book-signing event begins at 10 a.m., and the store, located at 105 E. Main St., will open to the public after the event concludes.
The event ticket includes you and a guest, said Ellen Ward, co-owner of FoxTale Book Shoppe. You will have an opportunity to meet Sen. Ted Cruz and get your book signed.
As the son of a Cuban immigrant, Cruz shares in his book how he overcame trials and tribulations to advance to the Ivy League, to the Supreme Court bar and eventually to the United States Senate.
It also shares his feelings and his background, Ward said. I didnt realize that his father was actually in a Cuban prison, so that kind of forms who Sen. Cruz is and what he thinks we are doing right and what we are doing wrong in this country.
The book details the Texas senators personal journey through life, ending with his views on Washington.
Cruz offers an inside look at what has gone wrong in our nations capital, a press release states. He argues that the need for change is urgent, and that the only way to bring about real change is to revitalize the Constitutional principles that made our country great.
Cruz, who is known for being very outspoken and opinionated, is considered a political lightning rod and the most Googled man in Washington. He was elected to the United States Senate in 2012 and has refused to go along with how business is handled in Washington, a press release said.
The book notes why he wants to run for president, Ward said. He thinks that we need to reignite America; to bring it back to the country that his father took refuge to. He has an interesting life story.
Although Ward is unable to predict the turnout, she said the Cherokee County Republican Party is helping to spread the word.
Cherokee County is heavily conservative, and the Cherokee County Republican Party is excited about this, she added. We really appreciate Woodstocks support all of the time.
Individuals who would like an autographed copy of A Time for Truth but will not be able to attend the event are able to order a copy online at www.foxtalebookshoppe.com/events/#cruz.
The book is $27.99 and shipping is $6.
I will be there and I know I wont be the only one.
Make sure you give us an after-action report! ;o)
Will do.
I wish I could join you, but Georgia is a long drive from Pennsylvania.
