Yes, she was lying to Cat in order to be able to fake sympathy with her.

My point was, Ned would not have had a child with Cersei, from his book POV chapters, he despised her.

Yeah, I enjoyed that scene as well. Though I’d hoped they’d end it with him swooping down as the Khalassar surrounded her.

Even her ‘confession’ to the High (*coughHowlandReedcough*) Sparrow wasn’t a full confession. Even when she had nothing to lose. A despicable character to the last.

Ah, so you subscribe to the High Sparrow = Howland Reed theory? Could be a delicious turn of events, if true.

:D

I’ve been a fan from the start and it’s the only reason I’m still paying for HBO.

Although I really liked the “True Detectives” series with Matthew Mc whatever. I knew that it was going to end in a certain number of shows. As a result, I figured out what the shows ultimate conclusion would be.

I can’t seem to do this with GOT.

At this rate, this show has barely reached the half way mark.

Not having read the book, I get the sense that a boat load of new characters will need to be introduced or re-introduced in order to pull everything together.

My monetary commitment is nearing its end.

Yes indeed, and I think he’s dead set on getting as much vengeance for Ned as he can. He’s been solely focused on effing over Cersei, trying to expose the truth that Ned started to expose but never finished.

They just added this doing gay stuff in King’s Landing for the show. In the book Loras Tyrell went to lead a siege against Dragonstone, won it, but got badly injured and the last report was that he was dying of his wounds.

Last I heard, the showrunners for HBO were planning for 7 seasons. I think HBO might like for it to go longer. However, they’ve pretty much caught up to George R.R. Martin’s books with regard to the plot lines.

So, everybody dies.

The virtuous die, the early villains become virtuous and the audience is left in a vacuum of uncertainty.

I’m cancelling HBO tomorrow.

the true Azor Azai

Okay, it has been a while since I read these books, and neither I nor my better half (hubby) are familiar with this term. Could you please remind/enlighten us? Thanks.

I don’t know about that. GRRM has said that his books were inspired by the Wars of the Roses.

They’ve also said that GRRM has told the showrunners how everything ends, so I think that the books and the TV show will end up in pretty much the same place.

Azor Ahai is a legendary figure in the faith of R’hllor. Thousands of years ago, he forged the sword Lightbringer which he used to defeat the darkness of the Great Other. This came at a price, however, as in order to unleash the sword’s true powers he had to plunge it into the heart of his loving wife, Nissa Nissa. A prophecy foretells that he will be reborn as The Prince That Was Promised.

Possible candidates:
Stannis
Jon Snow
Danaerys Targaryen

As Maester Aemon said - In Valyrian, there are not two words for the title, and so “Prince that was promised” may equally mean “Pincess that was promised”.
