... Below is a look at the day-by-day schedule for each group game, including where you can watch the games in the U.S. on TV, followed by the schedule for the knockout stages. All times listed are Eastern Time.

"I'd describe them as a really awkward opponent," Sampson said. "They're a team that will make your life as difficult as possible. They'll have players in positions where you don't expect to see them. "We're a European team. We like to play against the Germans, the French, the Dutch, the Danes and all the Scandinavian countries, where if you lose the ball you know where they're going to be."Colombia will cause you problems. They'll get into awkward positions offensively and defensively.
"We've got to be ready for that, react to the problems they give us and make sure we give them a lot, which I think we can."
We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this Island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.
The jitters are over now and our women can focus on getting down to business. We have a lot of talent looking to present itself and they will in spectacular fashion.
"We are facing a team who will pose a huge physical threat. We know what type of challenge to expect in that respect. Weve got players who are ready for that, players like [Jo] Potter, [Katie] Chapman and Jade [Moore]."If they [Colombia] want to bring that type of game Im sure we can bring it back. We will respect the officials to make sure that if that situation happens again it will be controlled.
"But this game is about England. Its about England building momentum. The team is in a good place after the Mexico victory. It wasnt only a win, it was a good performance.
"Theres a huge amount of energy in the group and they are looking forward to showing that on the field."
This afternoon I have tried to set before you some of my most deeply held convictions and beliefs. This party, which I am privileged to serve, and this government, which I am proud to lead, are engaged in the massive task of restoring confidence and stability to our people.
I have always known that that task was vital. Since last week it has become even more vital than ever. We close our conference in the aftermath of that sinister utopia unveiled at Blackpool. Let Labour's Orwellian nightmare of the left be the spur for us to dedicate, with a new urgency, our every ounce of energy and moral strength to rebuild the fortunes of this free nation.
If we were to fail, that freedom could be imperilled. So let us resist the blandishments of the faint hearts; let us ignore the howls and threats of the extremists; let us stand together and do our duty, and we shall not fail.
The problem was there and I maybe came back too early in that Chelsea game, said Nobbs. The injurys been a nightmare because for a while it kept flaring up.But its been managed really well, and although I wasnt quite ready to play when we got here for the World Cup Ive felt fresh and ready to go in the last week or so and now I just want to start playing my part.
Its been frustrating having to watch from the sidelines. I came here wanting to play a massive part in this World Cup but weve got a good squad and the girls have done really well so far.
Oh, put me in coach, I'm ready to play today
Put me in coach, I'm ready to play today
Look at me, I can be centerfield
I think we are the power in South America. Were afraid of no-one. We respect the history of these big teams but weve come with just one goal which is for us also to write our page in history. We dont fear their history or their players.
2-0 France, fist 10 minutes, by the way.

June 17, 1887, the Statue of Liberty arrived in the USA.
England 0 0 Colombia as of the 10th minute.
We will see who the 4 best 3rd place teams will be.
Sweden only has 3 points though 3 draws vs. Australia, Nigeria and USA. A number of 3 point teams it looks like.
Wow. Another goal for France in the 13th minute.
YEAH! FIXED PIECE, FREE KICK, INGERLUND BANGS IN THE REBOUND!!! Cheers!!

Saturday:

Hasn’t this Cameroon team played rather well?
Sunday:
Brazil vs. Australia
France vs. South Korea
Canada vs. Switzerland
Monday:
Norway vs. England
USA vs. Colombia
Tuesday:
Japan vs. Netherlands
In some of these games, it is rather wide-open, Norway England looks very even. Otherwise, I’d expect the favorites to win most of the other matches generally speaking. We will see, we have two days to ponder this.

World Cup heads to Round of 16 | knockout stage | Wambach delivered |
I’d go with these predictions:
Saturday:
Germany over Sweden
Cameroon over China
Sunday:
Brazil over Australia
France over Korea
Canada over Switzerland
Monday:
England over Norway
USA over Colombia
Tuesday:
Japan over Netherlands.
So, with all due respect to all of the teams, a round of 16 is good in providing more matches to watch, a whole 4 days but it looks like it will be the quarterfinals where things really get interesting.
Still, a 4 round knockout tournament after the group stage, should be exciting and maybe we will see upsets.
One person ranks the remaining teams. Norway may well be beat England but whomever wins that, could proceed some in the tournament.

Cameroon may well be a surprise team as well.
