The 2015 Women’s World Cup in Canada is the biggest tournament ever for women’s soccer.
Expanded to 24 teams for the first time in history, the action begins on Saturday, June 6 and the final is on July 5. It promises to be a spectacular month of soccer north of the border.

Sampson urges England to show their bite against Colombia "I'd describe them as a really awkward opponent," Sampson said. "They're a team that will make your life as difficult as possible. They'll have players in positions where you don't expect to see them. "We're a European team. Mark Sampson said his England team are prepared for a battle against Colombia "We are facing a team who will pose a huge physical threat. We know what type of challenge to expect in that respect. Arsenal midfielder Jordan Nobbs is over her injury nightmare and in line to make her Women’s World Cup debut in England’s final group match against Colombia tonight. “The problem was there and I maybe came back too early in that Chelsea game,” said Nobbs. “The injury’s been a nightmare because for a while it kept flaring up. “But it’s been managed really well, and although I wasn’t quite ready to play when we got here for the World Cup I’ve felt fresh and ready to go in the last week or so and now I just want to start playing my part.
“It’s been frustrating having to watch from the sidelines. I came here wanting to play a massive part in this World Cup but we’ve got a good squad and the girls have done really well so far.”

We will see who the 4 best 3rd place teams will be.
Sweden only has 3 points though 3 draws vs. Australia, Nigeria and USA. A number of 3 point teams it looks like.

In some of these games, it is rather wide-open, Norway England looks very even. Otherwise, I’d expect the favorites to win most of the other matches generally speaking. We will see, we have two days to ponder this.

I’d go with these predictions:

Brazil over Australia

Canada over Switzerland

England over Norway
USA over Colombia
Tuesday:
Japan over Netherlands.
So, with all due respect to all of the teams, a round of 16 is good in providing more matches to watch, a whole 4 days but it looks like it will be the quarterfinals where things really get interesting.
Still, a 4 round knockout tournament after the group stage, should be exciting and maybe we will see upsets.
