The threat of a limited surgical naval or air force bombing of critical nuclear installations--with no ground troops
The contention that there are only two options in dealing with the rogue Ayatollahs regimenegotiation or military option, which supposedly amounts to wardefies reality. Such a contention is either mistaken or misleading.
The threat of a limited surgical naval or air force bombing of critical nuclear installationswith no ground troops - would not amount to a war, would deter the Ayatollahs, possibly moderating their nature, andif activated - would permanently cripple their pursuit of nuclear capabilities, and could be repeated if necessary from US military bases in Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman and the Indian Ocean or from US aircraft carriers.

That is the most idiotic thing I've heard in a long time. Did the bombing of Pearl Harbor not amount to a war?
Israelis did it back in the 80s sometime I think, for just that purpose - destroy their capability. Was there a war?
The Israelis have more patience than me. I’d nuke their seat of government completely. What war? It’s not a war if they can’t declare it back.
Bombing isn’t going to do squat to facilities buried a mile underground. If you want to take them out you need to send in troops. Unfortunately the Pub controlled Congress killed the bunker buster nuke program under W’s administration.
This also assumes the mullahs are going to sit back and do nothing. Military option means war. The way to win wars is to kill the enemy leaders and replace them. Regime change is the key.
If you can’t get into them, you can’t use them. It’s called radiation.
"Seat of government ring a bell?"
It most certainly did not! It was simply a naval-air kinetic action of limited scope and duration with no boots on the ground to which FDR COMPLETELY overreacted. Just ask Hillary.
Operation Opera, also known as Operation Babylon, was a surprise Israeli air strike carried out on 7 June 1981, which destroyed an Iraqi nuclear reactor under construction 17 kilometers (10.5 miles) southeast of Baghdad. The operation came after Iran's unsuccessful Operation Scorch Sword operation had caused minor damage to the same nuclear facility the previous year, but had subsequently been repaired by French technicians.
Operation Orchard was an Israeli airstrike on a suspected nuclear reactor in the Deir ez-Zor region of Syria, which occurred just after midnight (local time) on September 6, 2007. The Israeli and U.S. governments imposed virtually total news blackouts immediately after the raid that held for 7 months.
True. They wouldn’t be able to get out of the bombed facilities. They’d be plugged and compacted. Help arrives from other Iranians, bomb it, too.
That’s it! Emulate chickens. Let ‘em build up, then finish them and their allies during the nuclear exchange. That won’t take long at all.
