Hey folks, unless it is directly involved, don't even mention it. Really.

The question isn't one of his preferences or beliefs, and if you make it one, he will use 'persecution' for those preferences or beliefs as a defense.

Instead, the questions are:

Why was the train going 106 mph there??

and

Why did it take so long for the engineer to hit the brakes?

Stick to the basic problem unless other factors contributed to it.

Remember, Bill Clinton ducked charges of Perjury and Obstruction of Justice because the media made the whole issue to be 'just about sex'.

Exactly. Focus on the issue at hand.

Otherwise, you become as irrelevant as those blaming this on “infrastructure”.

Maybe at some point we’ll hear the truth. Hopefully the black box will shed some light.
One guess is that he was occupied with something else besides doing his job.
Maybe reading, watching something on a mobile phone, etc.

Does anyone know how the accelertor woks on these trains? Is it a foot feed
like an auto or a lever that is hand held/set or some other device?

No man runs away from an accident. And one cannot completely factor out the engineer being a homo. Fruitcake here could have been doing something...faggy before the incident.

It's relevant to the extent that Amtrak may have put an unqualified person in charge of people's lives, either due to a desire to fulfill a "diversity" quote or because he was a politically-connected activist.

Earlier this year I visited a local railroad museum. One thing that struck me was that career progression among railroad people historically was that you worked many years as an engineer on freight trains before you were trusted to work a passenger train. This guy went directly from conductor to engineer.

It is relevant.

Yesterday I was watching Anderson Cooper on CNN talking to some official investigating the crash. They were going out of their way to be nice to the engineer. It was gross. They were saying things like we must not jump to conclusions and the engineer had been through a lot and he must be given several days to recuperate etc. It was obvious they were hiding something. Hopefully they will not give this guy a pass for being gay.

Today it was reported that the engineer had no idea what happened because he could not remember anything. How convenient. So any questions he is asked he is going to say that he just cannot remember. If it was learned that he was doing something else than his job, can he get a pass because he cannot remember therefore it was not his fault?

One thing he did remember. He remembered to shut his mouth and get a lawyer immediately. That he remembered.

This case is really highly suspicious.
