A black sociology professor at Vanderbilt University is arguing that “white privilege” is to blame for last week’s riots and looting in Baltimore, Md.
The professor, Tony N. Brown, took to the op-ed pages of The Tennessean late last week to make the claim.
White people act “routinely to harm, demean, and damage black and brown people,” Brown wrote in Nashville’s main newspaper. These actions “explain the lofty levels of frustration and despair among black and brown youth
The professor, who has a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, cites other unrelated incidents as evidence of the riots after the April 19 death of Freddie Gray while in police custody. He recalls the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity members at the University of Oklahoma who sang a shockingly racist song. He also alludes to the white South Carolina police officer charged with murder for shooting at a fleeing black man eight times.
Brown then blames the white parents of the fraternity members “and others like them” for the racism of their white children.
Using a host of names blatantly implying maximum whiteness — including “Sarah,” “Liam,” “Chase” and “Katey” — Brown offers a blanket condemnation of white parents for sending children to “racially homogenous” schools and churches, living in predominantly white neighborhoods and failing to read children’s books featuring minority characters.
Brown blames white parents for telling “racially insensitive” jokes in front of children and allowing grandparents to use racial slurs “at Thanksgiving.”
Also, white parents inform their children “that all poor people are black and it’s their own fault,” Brown suggests.
“The bottom line is that it’s everyday whites making everyday choices that lock in and protect white privilege,” the Vanderbilt professor admonishes.
Brown’s solution to the problem of white people using “white privilege” to “routinely to harm, demean, and damage black and brown people” is for “people of color” to create a massive, grassroots surveillance network to capture video evidence of racism.
Use cell phones and GoPro camcorders to “record the discourteous way co-workers or service industry workers or police officers treat you,” Brown writes in The Tennessean.
“Record your friends talking about the indignities and micro-aggressions you as a person of color, for example, face in all- or mostly-white spaces,” the professor instructs. “If you happen to identify as white, then record Uncle Roy talking at a private family gathering about the good old days when blacks knew their place. Record how pleasant your interactions are with police officers doing routine traffic stops.”
“Then let’s all post our videos,” Brown declares concerning the vague last step in his racism surveillance scheme.

The concept of white privilege was popularized in academic circles by a 1987 essay entitled “White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack.” The author was Peggy McIntosh, an inconsequential white feminist. This man suffers from caucasiaphobia and is seething with microagression by writing this op ed.

I like black people. That are good working class people who take care of their families and criticize black thugs.

The emancipation proclamation would have included not only freedom but a one way ticket back to Africa courtesy of the US navy.

Whites are under attack and have been for sometime. From the MSM to Academia to our own government. They will continue with this battering ram until we whites either completely give up and allow for something like S Africa to happen or fight back. Brown is not an anomaly, In fact he is becoming the norm. This crap is in our daily newspapers on our daily ‘news’ shows, promoted in certain TV shows and movies even in our sports, advocated by some in government and certainly in our schools. Whether we actually fight back depends I guess on how much we value our children and posterity.
$54,000 a year to be fed this drek? College has become as much of a scam as Scientology.

The entire article is one Racial Profile statement after another. One cannot use Racial Profile as definition of White Priviledge. This is an argument where the author is defeating his own premise. He accuses the White people of living a lifestyle that is self sustaining only because they profile and abuse Black people. Yet, ALL his references are just cartoon profiles of what Blacks suspect White families of doing.
To find what he actually describes, he will need to take a ride with Sherman and Mr. Peabody, in their Wayback Machine, to the year 1965. Drop in on the Thanksgiving dinner of ANY leading Democrat politician. The topic WILL be, how to control the Black Problem and make them think they are benefitting from it.
His argument is not worthy of debate unless he recognizes that he has falsely labeled Democrat Priviledge as White Priviledge. If he will only look at who has done ALL the destruction to the Black Family and Culture, it is Democrat Leadership. Then take your Wayback Machine now go back further, to the Civil War. Which Political Party was fighting to abolish Slavery and which was not. History, will repeatedly show the definition of which Political Party fought every change to Society that reduced Racial Segregation. Look at the pictures on the front pages of the newspapers, showing the fire hoses, dogs, and axe handles being used on Black people protesting REAL SEGREGATION, those were times when a black person was required by law, to use separate bathroom facilities, separate water fountains, separate schools, separate movie theaters, and so many others. All designed to keep the Races devided. Then look at what political party ran election campaigns on the issue of “KEEPING THE BLACKS WHERE THEY BELONG... “ It wasn’t the Party of Barry Goldwater, that elected members of the KKK, to Congress.
Now, Mr. College Professor, ask yourself honestly. Which political party have you blindly voted for in the previous elections?
Your statement of White Priviledge is a false label. And it is this kind of misleading argument that has burdened the Black Community for far too long. Mr. College Professor, are you continuing to be part of the problem? Too many real people shed blood to get you where you are, don’t dishonor them by continuing the intellectual fraud.
People like this man need to start disappearing, or we’ll lose to communism for sure.

Believe me. I know these types. They wouldn’t stop at just white people. They’d take anyone who disagreed with them. If white people are to be blamed for anything, it’s for keeping people like this employed.
