Ian Reisner, one of the two gay hoteliers facing boycott calls for hosting an event for Senator Ted Cruz, who is adamantly opposed to gay marriage, apologized to the gay community for showing poor judgment.
Mr. Reisner put the apology on Facebook, where a page calling for a boycott of his properties, the gay-friendly OUT NYC hotel and his Fire Island Pines holdings, had gotten more than 8,200 likes by Sunday evening.
I am shaken to my bones by the e-mails, texts, postings and phone calls of the past few days. I made a terrible mistake, wrote Mr. Reisner.
The New York Times first reported on the event, a dinner and fireside chat on April 20, at the duplex Mr. Reisner and his business partner Mati Weiderpass co-own on Central Park South in Manhattan.
The two men are prominent figures in the gay rights community, and Mr. Reisner has been especially vocal about gay marriage. Hes also a staunch supporter of Israel, as is Mr. Cruz....

If he had refused to do it, wouldn’t that have been rather hypocritical of the “gay community”?
I hope they all burn in hell.
Lol.
So many layers of wrong in this story.
No wonder the world is going to hell in a handbasket.
The Gaystoppo does not tolerate tolerance.
But does not the hotelier HAVE to provide services to anyone, even those who disagree with his ethos?
Even those accused of thoughtcrime?
Lions do not lose sleep over the opinions of sheep.
I am shaken to my bones by the e-mails, texts, postings and phone calls of the past few days. I made a terrible mistake, wrote Mr. Reisner.
Once again, we see that there is a strong totalitarian streak within the homosexual “rights” community. Apparently homosexuals are not allowed to talk to, much less do any business with, someone who is not a staunch supporter of homosexual marriage and liberal homosexual positions on issues.
Wow, he was shaken to his bones. They sure put the fear of the homosexual God into him, didn’t they????
Should have stuck with Israel over your fellow homos buddy. You just sealed your fate.
Apologized for what? For being intolerant? But is that not what they accuse everyone else of?
Chicken.
No liberal has the mental capacity to see why this is the same as the normal baker refusing to make a gay cake. Hypocricy is built into their brains.
The homofascists are really living up to their name.
“...for showing poor judgment.
So, let’s see...........Fornification is more important than freedom.
Cruz is for freedom as described in the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
These queers think that the right to hump our boyfriend or a girl humping another girl are far more important than protecting our rights under both God’s law and the Constitution.
I’m glad that I am an old fart and won’t live to see the total destruction of our society, freedoms and morals in the next 20-20 years.
Chat come’s around goes around and the younger generation of today will surely regret the decisions they make today.
Wait until Obama hears about this. Nobody’s madder than Obama!
The dumbest thing possible is o to apologize when you did nothing wrong
That’s funny! I misread the headline and assumed Ted Cruz was apologizing to his supporters for schmoozing with a bunch of perverts.
I’m getting confused about the hate crime thing. So, is it a hate crime to believe that homosexuality is wrong? Or is it a hate crime to eat with someone who is accused of a hate crime? Or is it a hate crime to hate someone who is believed to have committed a hate crime by eating with someone who is believed to have committed a hate crime? Do all the hate crimes even out, or is one a worse hate crime that the other?
Popcorn. Need more popcorn.
Ah, don’t blame the poor guy— He’s obviously read “Profiles in Courage” authored by Governor Pence and the Renault Republicans.
