It always seemed funny to me (this goes back decades) that one could walk down the aisles of a drug or grocery store, and see a whole aisle devoted to hair-straightening or skin-bleaching stuff, for the Black folks; and go down other aisles full of sun-tanning stuff and perms for the White folks.
(I happened to have a conversation with a mixed-race lady who identifies as “Black” today; she was showing us a picture of a distant cousin who looks like a young Tuesday Weld. I told her that I have distant cousins who are half-Black, and it’s fun to see their pictures: all the girls look just like me and the other females in our closer family, with some features that clearly show the African genes. I told her that looking at their pictures, I saw how I would appear if I had some Black genes. Her response was: “Do they have good hair?” I think the response was due to her own curiosity as to how things ‘fall out’.)
It’s time that we give up this “race” crap, and realize that we are all the same species.
Jeez....

Yes, indeed, and the aisles of the drugstores haven't changed at all. lol
Reminds me of an old joke song that used to be on the radio in the 80's - The lyrics went, "White people want to be black, and black people want to be white."
This young girl seems to have put a history report online. That's what it looks like to me. She's only 16, and she's of mixed heritage herself: Her mother is black American and her father is Danish.
I have a dream...
