Full of taser darts doesn’t really make a difference. The man was running away and not any longer dangerous to the officer or anyone else. Saying it was a good shoot is saying that revenge is an exonerating motive and many gang slayings would be justified.

If Slager truthfully believed, even if mistakenly believed, that Scott still had control of the taser while fleeing, and the darts were in him, then yes, he was in danger, and he is innocent. If all that is not true, there’s still tons of reasonable doubt as to guilt. Your remark about revenge is unfounded at this point.

What you said. Case closed.

The officer is alive to complain of taser darts and taser wrap from an altercation.

The other guy is dead, face down, shot in the back how ever many times while in retreat, at barely a gallop.

If these new revelations are correct, then your contention is wrong.

Taking the cop’s weapon puts the perp into assault to a police officer, regardless if the weapon is used. Once it is used it’s instantly turned into attempted murder of a police officer. Hot pursuit is to prevent the perpetrator from further assaults.

Can you guarantee that “Mr.” Scott would do no further harm? The cop did.

Really.. the point.of a taser gun is to incapacitate you.... its a weppon.. Scott took one of the cop weppons and fired it at the cop... an you do not see that as an issue... he turn and ran equal hands up..so that it ....

If Scott fires a gun ..misses and turn an run...that a free shot ?

so question what if the turned and running guy still.has the weppon?..

Is the cop to assume the guy will not turn and fire again...

Because want to get the rules of engagement down here....you can fire weapons ..turn run... and the cop can only fire back if you stop to turn around and fire back a second time..

And the cop must confirm that you’re actually turning and poiting a weapon back at him a second time before he can actually fire at you?

so its the one free shot at a cop rule..

does this count for civilians too?

if someone comes up to you on the street takes a shot at you and turns... and you happen to have a weapon too ...well...what...???

we’ve established the universal one free shot rule ???

Yep, the video does not lie unless there is some video effects going on here. This guy was running away, was quite some distance from Slager and Slager took careful aim and fired off 8 shots until Scott was down. Absolutely no justification for that whatsoever, ESPECIALLY over a freakin’ traffic stop over a tail light!

“The man was running away and not any longer dangerous to the officer or anyone else.”

Truly an asinine statement.

It's kinda hard to make a rational, clear headed decision when one has just grappled on the ground with a thug who tazered you and you're pumped with adrenalin and anger.

I know, you're probably an ex navy seal but give the guy some sympathy, he likely never went thru the training you did..........

How would the officer know the man wasn't just moving to a more advantageous position from which he could resume the attack?

I think it was murder because a reasonable bystander was in fear of being found filming it for his own life.
