Writing an opinion piece to Michigan State University’s paper the State News, Rashad Timmons says that microaggressions are causing him several medical afflictions. His letter was titled, “Intentional or not, microaggressions severely impact underrepresented members of society.”
According to Timmons, people who “are not privileged” are suffering greatly from the intentional and unintentional triggers that others are causing. “On a campus,” he writes, ” — and nation at large — in which whiteness, patriarchy, heteronormativity, cissexism, ableism and classism prevail, students that are not privileged by these constructs often have difficulty navigating hegemonic, oppressive environments.”
Timmons writes about different maladies that have come about because of these microaggressions.
He writes that some people have “pressure in the chest” after a microaggression. “It leads you,” he explains with specificity, “to the public restroom on the second floor — too much traffic on the first — of some indiscriminate building that you stumbled into only out of proximity and the immediate need for safety and silence."
...White people, straight people, males, people who are not disabled, those who identify as their birth sex, and those who are not poor must check their “privilege,” Timmons explains.
“To do this,” he concludes, “we must understand and be accountable for our privilege. We must be willing to address the uncomfortable in a wholly racialized, politicized and sexualized society to create safer spaces for all to exist and thrive in.”

These poor fragile creatures will one day have to venture out into the real world, that big scary world out there where reality will intrude into their fantasy world. I am not sure their psyches can handle that. They will continually shocked and offended that the world doesn’t work the way they were taught and seek to change reality to their twisted visions.
If they can’t get government jobs, they can go on disability because of their psychological strain.
They can become community organizers and get jobs at non-profits and stuff
The non-profits are funded by government grants. On other words, one way or another, we are supporting this yutz the rest of his life.
The world will not bend for you. Learn to cope or become a hermit. Using big words to deacribe the problem doesn’t make that untrue.
Yep-we aren’t all insane here, just seems like it with who gets elected! Hard to believe “crazy eyes” Mark Dayton is governor. There are some decent local elected officials and, IMO, Michelle Bachman is a winner.
The lengths to which the insane invent Lamentations is nothing short of astounding. Every pity-party word ever devised is trotted out in the never-ending parade of of excuses for the indolent.
The possibility that they might actually be inferior will never occur to them.
Now that they have invented new psychological diseases to explain their inability to cope. Perhaps a new magic pill can be invented to cure all their ills. But they should be careful what they wish for.
One thing I know for sure. The competent, the normal, the non-sodomy supporting healthy part of our culture, and the successful aren’t about to fake failure just to make them feel better.
Macro-insanity surely can’t expect us normals to allow the feeble-minded to set the rules for everybody.
