Writing an opinion piece to Michigan State Universitys paper the State News, Rashad Timmons says that microaggressions are causing him several medical afflictions. His letter was titled, Intentional or not, microaggressions severely impact underrepresented members of society.
According to Timmons, people who are not privileged are suffering greatly from the intentional and unintentional triggers that others are causing. On a campus, he writes, and nation at large in which whiteness, patriarchy, heteronormativity, cissexism, ableism and classism prevail, students that are not privileged by these constructs often have difficulty navigating hegemonic, oppressive environments.
Timmons writes about different maladies that have come about because of these microaggressions.
He writes that some people have pressure in the chest after a microaggression. It leads you, he explains with specificity, to the public restroom on the second floor too much traffic on the first of some indiscriminate building that you stumbled into only out of proximity and the immediate need for safety and silence."
...White people, straight people, males, people who are not disabled, those who identify as their birth sex, and those who are not poor must check their privilege, Timmons explains.
To do this, he concludes, we must understand and be accountable for our privilege. We must be willing to address the uncomfortable in a wholly racialized, politicized and sexualized society to create safer spaces for all to exist and thrive in.

So sad but true. I wonder how many microaggressions the Jews commit against the Muslims and Obama by being 98.6F.
I thought all liberals believed in Darwinism - Natural Selection. Let the weaklings die of insecurity.
This guy has been TOTALLY screwed by multiculturalism. It has made him unfit for life.
Heh, that was good.
Looks like he larned some big words at that there skool.
Skimming the gene pool.
Well, pee on yee.
pacifiers and diapers will be provided as needed on campus!
Microaggression? We used to call that thinskinned. No everybody is a big baby. We were a people who once braved and conquered a wild continent. Now people whine and throw a tantrum if somebody refuses to bake them a cake.
In a different article the author writes “True strength lives in mind”
“We all are equipped with our set of tribulations and obstacles in life. We all have faced hardships. We all have endured pain.
But what makes us truly remarkable, as a people, is that we are able to rise above the challenges that seek to harm us. We are masters of perseverance.
In the midst of the hindrances that attempt to burn our faith, we become phoenixes, encompassing the fires of the sun.
When hopelessness tries to keep us from our dreams, it is our strength that pushes us forward. When exams and quizzes become too numerous, it is our strength that helps us pull through. When family issues seem to arise every week, it is our strength that allows us to keep faith.
When we feel like giving up and letting go, it is our strength that tells us to hold on.
You see, strength is not determined by the amount of damage we can cause, or by the superiority of our muscles. Strength is not what we see on TV shows or in movies. Strength is characterized by our ability to effectively utilize our minds in order to endure the problems we face.”
So which is it Rashad?

Empty, unhappy spoiled people. They were told that there is no God, that they are just animals and have such low morals that a whore would blush (or should). And they have been always taught to blame somebody else.
“Why did Jon Stewart have to leave us so????”
Hey Rashad! Take your bullcrap lunatic statements and shove them up your smelly Obama.
How’s that for “micro-aggression,” you loser?
He’s been taught this attitude by his parents and teachers. Normal people having many of his experiences would say, “Golly, people sure are rude these days,” and move along, largely unperturbed.
This boy (or is he? she?), however, has been taught that everything is about him (her, it) and their personal issues. If someone is rude on the sidewalk, it’s not because they are trashy people; it’s because he (etc.) is black, someone black, homosexual, transgender, yadda yadda.
It’s as if they can’t wrap their minds around the concept that other people are just as self-absorbed as they are. He didn’t shove you out of the way because you’re black; he shoved you out of the way because, to him, neither you nor anyone else truly exists unless he “clicks on you” and grants you an existence he has to recognize.
My son Bill says he hasn’t noticed white male patriarchal cissexual oppression on his campus ... so he must be part of the problem. He does think business students are oppressed, though. The university has to offer all those useless “Studies” courses, so there’s only one section of “Brand Development and Promotion,” and he couldn’t get into it.
Or maybe his heart and breathing problems are from using illegal drugs?
