Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who abandoned his post in Afghanistan and was held captive for five years by the Taliban, was charged Wednesday by the U.S. military with desertion and misbehavior before the enemy and could get life in prison if convicted.
The misbehavior charge could land Bergdahl in prison for life, though some legal experts said a lengthy sentence was unlikely. He also could be dishonorably discharged and forfeit all his pay if convicted on either charge.
Next, an Article 32 hearing — similar to a civilian grand jury proceeding — will be held at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio....

Not if he pleads guilty or is convicted of either charge. However I wouldn’t be surprised to see him plea to a lesser charge before the Article 32 hearing and get a slap on the wrist.
Give him a sex change and air drop him back into Afghan.
Place him in general population at Ft. Leavenworth. No fuss no muss problem solved.....
I wonder if there will be an excuse for what happened, such as with Bradley Manning. Since Manning always wanted to be a girl, that excuses his actions in the minds of some. Due to being oppressed as a trans whatever creature and all that. I wonder if Bergdahl has some revelation which will shock us all.

Whatever a sensible, right-thinking American citizen would do in a given situation, we can count on Obama to do the opposite; if for no other reason than to put a thumb in the eye of sensible, right-thinking American citizens.

Exactly. His unit said they heard him on the radio asking for directions to the Taliban and later on the Taliban knew their position as if someone told them. He defected and my theory is he found it too rough and wanted to go home, so he came up with this scam where he would pose as a POW and told the Taliban Obama would trade him. Obama was in on the scam since day one, he knew damn well what Bergdahl was all about, he’s the POTUS and he played up this whole POW thing and released the 5 Taliban commanders before anybody to question him. High Treason by a sitting US President and of course Repubs will do absolutely nothing about it.
Barry knew he’d never get Congress to go along with this treasonous act, so he went it alone.
Send him back to the Taliban. There’s a life sentence. LOL!
