Liberals across the country rejoiced today as Ted Cruz announced that he is officially running for president, thus ensuring a plentiful gaffe harvest for progressive writers like myself to feed upon for months.
The GOP has pretty much nothing to gain from Cruzs decision to throw his hat in the ring. In fact, if anything, it will probably hurt them, as Cruz will only serve to solidify the idea that Republicans are anti-women, anti-LGBT, and anti-immigrant.
Yes, Ted Cruz, the son of an immigrant from Cuba, is anti-immigrant.
As a Latino, I can tell you right now that Latinos wont be lining up to vote for Ted Cruz just because of his last name or his heritage. Latino voters look at the issues, and judging by Cruzs record, hes going to have a hard time winning the community over.
Here are five reasons why Latinos would never vote for him:
1. He is Anti-Immigrant
Ted Cruz has particularly harsh views on immigration. He rose to power in Texas on a staunch opponent of amnesty policies. It would seem that having an immigrant father hasnt influenced Cruzs treatment of other immigrants. Maybe thats why in his 2012 senate race in Texas, Latinos overwhelmingly voted for his opponent.
2. He Doesnt Believe in Climate Change
Latinos see themselves as committed to the protection of the environment. A 2013 poll found that 76 percent of Latinos agree that the planet is heating up, 14 percent higher than whites. Latino communities have also been forced out of their homes due to fracking. Cruzs belief that science doesnt support the theory of global warming will be a tough sell to Latinos.
3.. He is Anti-Obamacare
In 2010, nearly one in three uninsured people in the United States was Hispanic or Latino. Employer-based insurance is the most common form of insurance for Latinos to have, but they are far less likely to have it than their non-Latino peers. Ted Cruz will do everything he can to repeal Obamacare, which offers benefits for Latinos.
4. He is Bad for Education
Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) has done amazing things for Latino students. It has given them a chance at a better future. Since DACA, more Latino parents believe their children will get an education past high school. Ted Cruz would put an end to that.
5. He is Ted Cruz
Ted Cruz has made it clear he doesnt plan on reaching out to the Latino community. His track record speaks to that, and a cursory glance at his political career reveals that he is, to put it delicately, off his rocker.
So, no, Latinos will not be voting for Ted Cruz.
Nor should anyone else.

Whats that SMELL?
John Paul Assrammer. That name don’t sound Spanish. Other than that, Cruz Derangement Syndrome.
Fag
1. He is Anti-Immigrant
He is anti-ILLEGAL.
2. He Doesnt Believe in Climate Change
A high holy sacrament of the illiberal cause. Given that they had to change it from “Global Warming” to “Climate Change” in the face of a brutal winter, they’re still trying to hoodwink the public with their radical anti-humanity agenda.
3.. He is Anti-Obamacare
So is a majority of Americans.
4. He is Bad for Education (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA))
That has nada to do with education and more about justifying the flood of illegals into the country with expensive goodies we can’t afford.
5. He is Ted Cruz
Ted Cruz doesn’t believe in the leftist cause as this Stalinist poof does. You don’t really need to spew on all the other points, Juan Pablo, you just hate a Conservative Latino grown-up.
My wife, who is Hispanic, says he looks like Pee Wee Herman. I don't see it, but she swears by it.
Cruz is not elligible, He is foreign born. Conatitution rquires native born. I won’t vote for him.
Cruz or the Butt Bandito who wrote this screed?
*sniff*sniff*
You haz a smell.
And the owner of this site has said this will no longer be debated on FR.
I not only voted for Cruz, I will again, have given money, and last time, worked the phones and doors for him. I will do what I can this time.
And I won't disrespect the owner of this site by bringing up meaningless and divisive subjects.

Boy, we are really wasting money trying to educate some people.
You’re wrong about him. He’s not an assrammer, he’s a rammer receiver.
Just go vote for Jebbie then. He was born here.... You know you want to.
Good on you Johnny. I plan to do everything I possible can to help Ted Cruz.
5 Reasons to Vote for Cruz:
1. He is Anti-Immigrant
2. He Doesnt Believe in Climate Change
3. He is Anti-Obamacare
4. He is against DACA Education
5. He is Ted Cruz
> Cruz is not elligible, He is foreign born. Conatitution rquires native born. I wont vote for him.
If a Kenyan Muslim Manchurian Candidate who produces a fake birth certificate, has a fake social security number, and a slew of people that knew about his true background come up dead (including his own grandmother who just happened to die on the eve of election day and many more which I could list but it would fill up quite a bit of space)
can get elected then Cruz, whose mother, WAS a U.S. citizen should damn sure be able to run...
The correct term is “natural born” anyway.
