One of the many weapons seen on AMCs smash hit TV series Walking Dead is a unique pump-action shotgun called the Ultimate Tactical Shotgun or UTS-15.
The weapon has also been spotted in video games like Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts. The UTS-15 is built by the Turkish firearms manufacturer, UTAS-Makine.
The distinctive weapon is the subject of a field test review from sharpshooter Kirsten Joy Weiss. In a 4:30 video, Weiss puts the UTS-15 through some rigorous paces while explaining the many features of the shotgun.
The UTS-15 loads like many pump-action shotguns:
The difference in this weapon and a typical, single-barrel shotgun is the added capacity achieved by dual, selectable, seven-round tube magazines capable of holding 2 1/2 to 3-inch shells running along the top of the weapon.
With one shell in the chamber and each magazine carrying seven rounds, the fully loaded shotgun has 15 rounds.
Additionally, because the UTS-15 has separate magazines, you can load different types of ammo in each magazine. For example, the left magazine can be filled with birdshot and the right side with slugs. Weiss points out another design bonus of the shotgun: a selector switch just above the trigger The UTS selector switch gives the unique ability to load each magazine with different rounds for different scenarios, she said.
You can easily switch from one magazine to the other, or leave the switch in the center and the weapon will alternate from one side to the other.
The UTS-15 seemed to perform well in the video. However Weiss did note the shotgun experienced more than one jam. She states, Upon further research, the UTS-15 is known for its feeding problems and other malfunctions. Adding, Gen 3 (the one being tested here) had the less malfunctions (than Gen 1 and 2). Weiss also pointed out the jamming happened most often while shooting the UTS-15 at speed. Noting, This is a particularly important factor if you plan on using the gun for home defense.

Nice shotgun, but in regards to zombies, I have never figured out why someone would prefer a shotgun.
Cool looking, but it was reviewed in quite some detail and the early versions inspired a mind-blowing amount of user venom and hostility.
They might have cleared up the problems by now, though.
Uhm...some of us haven’t seen Season 5 and are patiently waiting for it to come on Netflix.
LALALA I Cant here you!
Personally, the sword that the hot black chick has is more efficient.
Why can’t I mix shells in a single magazine shotgun? It’s a question of the barrel or choke properly handling a slug vs “birdshot” as they say, but I believe I can load up with a mixture of each.
Also I think for killing zombies or anyone else you’d load up with buckshot, not birdshot.
Need to be quiet with zombies.
Locked doors.
Because you’ll probably hit more than one, and it won’t go blasting through someone and hit an unintended target.
I don’t like it, it is very long, and very labor intensive, and depends largely on being healthy and uninjured, and not being enclosed, mobbed, or sitting down, or exhausted, etc.
I wonder how many shooters have been ‘nipped’ by the selector switch sticking up right in front of their face?
Which is it? multiple kills through scattered lead, or safety from multiple kills from scattered lead?
To me everything about it is wrong, you carry less ammo, fewer rounds per load, you lose sight picture each shot, you have to cock it, more recoil.
Was there a firearm in that video? Not that it needed one.
The video shows the shotgun the article talks about.
Uts-15, be extra mindful of “short shucking” the action.
Same for keltec ksg.
Otherwise, I want both.

__________
Maybe other freepers can weigh in on your questions? just posted it for walking dead fans.
kel-tec has a similar shotgun model.
i like the 8 shot semi auto tactical winchester put out.
just about any major brand shotgun you can get replacement handles and stocks that absorb some of the recoil.
