Two police officers shot and a manhunt is underway.
Shortly after midnight Thursday morning, two police officers were shot in front of the Ferguson Police Department. A 41-year -old officer from the St. Louis Police Department was shot in the shoulder, with the bullet exiting through his back. A 32-year-old officer officer from the Webster Groves Police Department was shot just below the right eye with the bullet lodging in his ear. We could have buried two police officers next week over this, said St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar.
Police believe the shots came from a handgun fired from approximately 120 yards away, and based on the trajectory of the bullets, it appears the shots were intentionally aimed at the officers. They were part of a 25-man police line at set up at the Ferguson PD headquarters to deal with the latest protest, convened to celebrate Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jacksons resignation from the force, and to call for Mayor James Knowles III to follow suit. Jackson will receive nearly $96,000 in annual salary and health coverage following his resignation on Mar. 19. Lt. Col. Al Eickhoff will take over as acting chief until the city completes a nationwide search for a new police chief, the city said in a news release.
And while the protests were winding down for the night, shots suddenly rang out. We heard, like, a firework it was loud, said journalist Bradley Rayford. You couldnt even see where it was coming from, but you saw the muzzle flash from up the hill. The bullets went right past my head.

The liberal Talking Point is now that another white officer did the shooting just to make the black lynch mob look bad.
How’s the investigation going of the young black juror who was shot?
Shot by a handgun from 120 yards away? What?
***Shot by a handgun from 120 yards away? What?***
Nothing new. Elmer Keith used to do it all the time, and Jeff Cooper had his .45ACP 1911 front sight fixed with a gold line near the base for 100 yard shots.
Skeeter Skelton of Shooting Times also did long range shooting with a handgun.
He simply placed the target on top of the front sight, then aligned the top of the rear sight with the line.
Years ago Guns an Ammo did an article on long range shooting with handguns.
There certainly are people in the world who could repeatedly and pretty reliably hit the target at 100+ yards. However they are not likely to be the shooters in that attack. The question stands: what common shooter can hit standing men twice with three rounds, from a handgun, at 120 yards? A typical ghetto shooter, who holds the weapon sideways, cannot hit the opponent from a few yards. It has to be someone with decent training, someone who went through a lot of rounds with this particular handgun.
P.S. I will try this feat at 100 yards next week if I can get to the range. Normally, it's a rifle distance for rimfire - for handguns people set their targets at 20-25 yards, if not closer.
I have shot deer at 200yrds with a hand gun. OK its a TC contender
That's akin to Bush did 9/11.
“...nothing new...(120 yards)
Skeptical about a handgun expert being the shooter. I believe it was a local thug with a couple of lucky shots.
Speaking strictly only about target shooting, and not at cops, I would prefer a rifle at that range.
I think a cop in Texas recently stopped a bad guy active shooter at 100 yards with an unknown caliber Glock
25 yards is the max for any pretense of accuracy by me. At my age I can’t even see 120 yards.
A number of the inmates at DummyUnderground are sure right-wing agitators did it. Even some other Dummies were skeptical of those claims.
Sit with your back against something solid and rest your wrists on your knees. With decent sights you can hit from way out.
I wonder what he could do with an inactive shooter?
“With decent sights, you can hit way out.”
Is that type of shooting a common type in Ferguson?
Don’t think so. Still think it was lucky shots from local or out of town thugs.
HAMAS is there. Time to start thinking outside the box.
NEVER make the mistake of underestimating an enemy.
What evidence supports your belief? Why can’t they have someone with the skill to make the shots?
“...Hamas was there...” And, they would only shoot two people?
Don’t think so. They go for mass murder. But, an interesting theory.
