Because she is not very political and being around liberals who are and watching their media for a couple of years could affect her.
It didn’t affect me that way in Portland. I didn’t have to “work at it” or “fight it” ... I was just me ... :-) ...
I suspect if her “position” is not “really her own” ... then maybe. That’s why I said if she’s confirmed and settled in what she knows, she won’t have any problem at all.

She is not a political junkie, but she isn’t totally unaware..she does have Drudge on her phone ;)
All millennials are just so busy—my 2 sons each usually work 12 hours a day...often more—they have very little time to follow much current news, and the West Coast is the Left Coast—my son lives in Cali and says it is different from the midwest.
