Some Simon Frasier University students believe that if you can go to a bathroom that matches your gender, you have "potty privileges."
In posters taped around campus, these students are claiming that people need to "check" such privileges. You have so-called potty privileges if you can say yes to any of these questions:
Can you:You can see one of the handouts below:- Find a safe washroom within reach?
- That matches your gender identity?
- Where you won't face harassment, violence, or discrimination?
On top of posting these around campus, SFU students have started a petition to force SFU to change every last "single stall washrooms to gender inclusive washrooms."

As a Canadian taxpayer, I say to those SFU students, “SFU and get back to class”!
Back in March of 2003, I had just flown home to Detroit from a ski trip in British Columbia. It was late at night and while waiting at the baggage claim I struck up a conversation with a young gal who was from Vancouver and was returning to school at Ohio State.
Since I was dead tired, she did all the talking. She then proceeded to tell me that her parents were from the Detroit area and that they took off for Canada when her dad received his Vietnam draft notice and they stayed there to this day.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing, she was talking as if she was proud of what her draft dodging hippie dad had done..........
It wasn't until I got in my car for the long drive home that the anger I felt set in. To this day it infuriates me that I didn't have the ability to tell that dumbass chick what I felt......
I thought it was going to be a story about how kids in failing schools get beat up in the bathroom and privileged white kids don’t.
Any people whose “gender identity” does not match their “personal plumbing” has “mental issues” and should be “institutionalized”.
If that makes me a hater, I guess I’m a hater. ((shrug))
And I need to work on my noun/verb agreement.....
Can you:
- Find a safe washroom within reach?
Yes, I have always felt safe. Except for a few seconds once at a rest area in North Carolina when I heard a strange sound coming from the men’s room. Turned out to be a couple of Korean guys talking loudly.
- That matches your gender identity?
Yes. I am a man and look for words that match up with that: Boys, Men, Hombres, Caballeros (that’s what they have in Target.) One time I absent-mindedly wandered into the wrong place at work (it was unoccupied at the time) and recognized my mistake right away: it had no urinals, but it did have a sofa.
- Where you won’t face harassment, violence, or discrimination?
Since the ladies’ room mentioned above was empty, I was spared any harassment, violence or discrimination. Plus, with the one exception of that absent-minded mistake, I as a man, being mentally-sound enough to recognize I am a man, always go to the men’s room. I have found that, for the most part, people in public restrooms, when everyone else is a stranger, pretty much take care of their business and leave without any incident. Most public washrooms are not really the kind of places most people want to hang out in. I have heard of other things going on in public washrooms, but I have never witnessed them. I guess my white, Christian, male, heterosexual privilege is good for something.
My “gender identity” is male chimpanzee. I will poo in my hand and fling it at liberals.
If you can’t, check your medication dosage.
Well, I for one am glad that my Heart Surgeon didn't get his degree from a freaking auto-shop or culinary school.
I am also glad my daughter received her Engineering degree from something other than a beauty school or tree trimming online program.
'fraid not,

as a graduate of both SFU and UBC i have to say that i am not surprised that UBC was years ahead on this sort of garbage
Forget the tree. Watering the university president’s front porch gets the point across.
I am going to fully support the anybody using any restroom thing. Finally a law with the outcome of women and minorities being hardest hit that we can all get behind.
Potty Privilege?
How come most restroom fixtures are WHITE?
White privilege, you know.
These people are the very definition of insanity.
Hmmmmm...yep.
A minimum of $20,000 for 4 years of tuition for these students. Will they get jobs with the state dept?
They are graduates of Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Womens Studies

What on earth is a “safe washroom”? One where nobody is sticking any private parts through little holes in the dividers?
Your daughter is an engineer? Cool!
If it’s single stall, then it’s one person at a time, and presumably has a lock on the door, so what’s the big deal?
