A waiter has posted a check online, which he claims was from Valentine's Day. On it, a lengthy, angry note is written, telling the waiter that he was "stereotyping" his customers by assuming he would receive no tip. Therefore, because he stereotyped them, he received no tip.
The bill came to a sizable $163.40. Next to "tip," two lines were drawn through indicating that the waiter would receive nothing extra. The explanation was on the back of the receipt...
You can see the note below:

LOL!
Maybe so. There sure have been a lot of hoaxes like this one lately. Then the waiter or waitress receives a lot of money from people who sympathize.
A bit cheap, I’d say. Actually they probably wouldn’t tip a white waitress anyhow and like to stick the knife in at the same time. It likely did not surprise the staff a lot.
Maybe the white couple asked the waitress for the check because they were in a hurry.
Maybe the waitress did not like the white couple and gave them the check first to get rid of them.
Can you say “Deadbeat Darkies”?
Just more victims of this rasis society. They should have complained to the management. “We be treated bad. Don’t you feel us being dissed.”
Its my understanding that Asian Indians consider themselves Caucasian.
Almost all of my students (and I taught at an all girl college) say it’s very very seldom that they ever get tips from “blacks.”
I’ve seen a table of six “blacks” find one thing wrong with one of their dinners (imaginary or otherwise), and they all get up and walk out refusing to pay for anything. The waitress at that table said that that occurs frequently with “black” customers.
In this era the victim defines the crime.
Mrs POF and I had a delightful lunch yesterday at one of our favorite spots, Mezza Luna in Princeton-by-the-Sea. We got seated and, wouldn’t you know it, another Caucasian couple got seated next to us a couple minutes later. They got their menus first AND, got their water first, AND their orders taken first, too! (that’s true) Boy, I was SO steamed that I was going to immediately write a note to our waiter complaining about the obvious racism, but then I stopped and realized WE WERE ALL CAUCASIAN. I was dumbfounded and flummoxed. What to do? Was it veiled racism by the Italian waiter?
Well, the bread arrived quickly as did the water, then the outstanding food (Insalata Mista with grilled Salmon), then more water, more bread — all by the most pleasant waiters ever.
We never gave it a second thought and left a generous tip.
Even Black staff do not want to wait on Black customers. For so many examples the Black customers have numerous requests for additional service, always additional attention...And so many, many times resulting in no tip.
Stereotypes have their 'birth' because of a cultural behavior, common experience of different races/genders/ages/religions/ethnics.
In the premise set forth in this article IMHO...this couple has a chip on their shoulder, discerns injustices all around their lives. One cannot really 'win' with a couple as depicted, just provide great service, expect nothing and roll over to the next seating.
It’s a known fact. I’ve even heard blacks complain about tipping. Of course as a group they don’t get a lot of things.
The black couple simply got tired of waiting...for the waitress to slight them so they just went ahead and did it for her.
I seriously doubt the waiter even considered the reflectivity of the couples in question.
However, the insulted couple obviously sees ALL things that happen around them through their race goggles.
Hear the same thing all the time - bad tippers if at all.
I’d go with that.
I now think all these things are fake, because every one I’ve heard about has been.
For the record I ALWAYS start at 20% and work my way down if I get lousy service.
I treat waiters or waitress with respect and I don’t make any special demands or disrespectfully order them around.
Anyhow, it seems to me the couple was looking for ANY EXCUSE not to tip the waiter.
That was pretty crummy what they did. Ridiculous!
