” I’m starting to wonder if the country will last until a 2016 election /adjusting my tinfoil.”

No tinfoil needed. Obama is the most dangerous man in America. I blame the GOPe for ignoring his treason. Money easily trumps patriotism these days.

Strongly agree with this comment. My wife and I are both involuntarily retired. Thankfully I am drawing SS and am on Medicare. She is not eligible and has to pay $730 a month for insurance that has a $50 copayment, $6,250 deductible, and essentially pays little or nothing for medicine. All of these payments come from savings as do most of our living expenses. Thankfully she is healthy but she is hell bent on not seeing a doctor this year in the hope that this law will be overturned. Oh, I failed to mention she lost her doctor and was assigned to a pediatrician as her primary doctor. In our case I guess Obamacare has accomplished it’s’ objective in that wealth (our savings) is being transferred and medical visits will be cut down. What a sham this law is, not to mention the poor insurance options given by the insurance companies.

Thank goodness that I work a 2nd job as a PT Teamster. Make 13.20 an hour for big brown. Insurance and pension worth 50.00 an hour for my 10 hours a week worked.

I am 56 years old and load the trucks and planes. The pain on my body and late hours are worth the sacrifice.

We are a hard working work force and highly motivated in the PRIVATE sector for the bennies.

I feel sorry for people who don't get the same bennies as me. I make it it up for my sweat equity.

My day job is IT(mainframe computer operations and networks), no lifting, but a lot of thinking.

I’m still saying Sept 2015, the great SHiFT happens.

And I’m not “ready” for it, not even knowing what “it” will look like.

This is nothing short of criminal. And these traitors told us we had to stop the insurance companies from selling inferior policies. And are you saving 2500 per year, like Obama promised you would. The POTUS belongs in jail.

You’d better hope that nothing serious happens to you. My friend got lymphoma, followed by stage 4 heart failure, so far the treatments have cost over one million dollars, far more than the $50 you just paid.

Another person I know had leukemia, which killed her eventually, but the treatments that extended her life for several years ran into the millions.

There are very few Americans who could afford to pay a million dollars to stay alive with some hideous disease, and I doubt you’re one of them...

Of course, you may be of the opinion that if you get heart disease or cancer, it’s the proper thing to just let the disease kill you, but there are many people who would rather stay alive and watch their children grow, watch their grandkids get married, etc., and for that, if a horrible disease strikes, they probably need some form of health insurance...

My wife’s first husband died at 27, leaving her with three very young children and no life insurance.

Regarding risk, yep. It’s been there since Adam ate of the apple. And at 61 I’m ready to go whenever the good Lord wants me. As the apostle Paul said, “To live is Christ and to die is gain.”

Now, if I had a family to support, I’d feel very differently about it.

We all can't spend a million bucks on just one more year to watch the grandkids. There just isn't that much money.

At no point is it moral to force other folks to pay for your last year.

That is so sad. It grieves me so much, all the people I hear about and know, who die so young and leave their loved ones behind.

My girlfriend’s sister died at 18, of lupus, and it really devastated their family.
