Dallas and Seattle finished 12-4 and Dallas won the head to head.

Because in the three-way tie between Dallas Seattle and Green Bay, the Cowboys had the worst conference record.

All the Cowboys had to do was beat the lowly Redskins at home, and they would have had home field throughout the playoffs.

Two bad calls probably gave the game to ya.

Let us please dismiss ahead of time the Dez incompletion.

Are you also going to dismiss the forearm completion?

Nah it was only two steps at best

Two steps is the definition of possession.

No, it isn’t.

Two steps generally relates to the question of was a receiver in bounds after a reception.

Furthermore, watching the play in slow motion shows that he didn’t take two steps before he fell, he took one step, then fell, then essentially extended his other leg as he was parallel to the ground and only a few inches above it.

In fact, it really isn’t even possible to determine that his knee hit the ground before the ball did.

“Isn’t possible to determine” is grounds to not overrule the call on the field during booth review, according to the rules, right?

Apparently not.

That’s just my opinion of it, maybe the reviewer determined otherwise.

Personally I do not think his knee hit the ground before the ball did from watching the slo mo.

I don’t know what to tell you, man. I thought it was a catch at first, but I can see why they say it’s not.

No point worrying about it, it’s history.

I am not worrying about it. But the gloaters need to move on, too. The “karma” crap is getting old when they benefited from bad calls in this game. Yeah, they won. But they don’t get to 26 without a bad call keeping a prior drive alive. I’m over it but I won’t get shit talked by pompous Cheesheads.

Oh I wasn’t doing all that now.

I am not even a fan of Dallas or Green Bay.

I am a lowly Saints fan, my football season was pretty much over as soon as they hit 0 and 1, and one of their players said you can’t determine how the season is going to go from the first game.

I thought to myself /facepalm.

Refs have a lot of power over outcomes in the NFL, sometimes they get it right, other times not. It seems to me that they did get it right in this case, but it was a very close and difficult call to make.

Bashing Dallas fans over it is a case of being a sore winner IMO, and that’s not cool.

As the ground cannot cause a fumble, it should have been a first down where he came down with it.

Huge Packer Fan.......you're right!!

Actually, no he is not. The rules have been clearly explained in this thread including the very credible sources from where they came. The ground can cause a fumble and it did. That considered, the pass was ruled incomplete.

you haven’t understood a word yet. It’s not anything to do with my way you moron.

I’m a Panther fan, to the extent I really even care - which is not much. I had no dog in this fight. But I have a great disdain for incompetence....like you and the NFL rules committee.

” If the receiver falls after the catch, he must hold on to the ball after hitting the ground or it is an incompletion. “The ground can’t cause a fumble unless the runner is not down by contact, but the ground can definitely cause an incompletion,” Pereira said. “If the ground jars the ball loose, it’s not a catch.”

Mmmm, nope.

Watch the plays. The Pack got two calls that ultimately let them win the game. That’s football. But don’t pretend they weren’t gimmes.

NFL Ref conspiracy nuts are no different than JFK assassination conspiracy nuts.

Just nuts.

No offense...

>>Mmmm, nope.<<

Mmmm, yep.

Why is this such a problem for so many here? The ones that won’t read and apply the rule to the play are almost as frustrating (although not nearly as pathetic) as those who stomp their feet and throw a tantrum b/c they don’t like the rule (get in line on changing a SLEW of NFL rules) like their silly-ass opinion makes a dang bit of difference.

Read the rule and apply to the play and it becomes clear.
