Princeton Columnist: Criticizing How I Say “Cool Whip” is a “Microaggression”

In an article called “The history of “wh”: a microaggression,” a Princeton student has called out those who question his pronunciation of “cool whip” as offensive and perpetrators of a microaggression.

The piece was written by “Newby Patton,” who is listed as a Contributing Columnist by the paper.

In “The History of ‘wh,'” Patton explains the pain he has gone through during his life when people notice that he pronounces “wh” with a heavy “h” sound.

He never questioned how he pronounced “wh” before he came to college. Now, according to Patton, he is being mercilessly mocked by class students.

“My peers make a spectacle of it,” Patton painfully recounts. “‘Say Cool Whip,’ they’ll tell me… I’ll say ‘Cool Whip.’ They’ll repeat it back to me with exaggerated emphasis on the /h/. I’ve been pulled into this conversation several times now, and each time I grow a bit more self-conscious.”

At first Patton thought it was okay because he is a white male and because he is a white male he “gets less than my fair share of discrimination.” But then he realized that he was suffering from microaggression.

Michelle Obama is proof that Princeton lowered its standard a long time ago. I see the standards haven’t improved.

The cool whip thing is a gag from “Family Guy.” It looks to me like the student columnist is satirizing all the minority complaints about “micro aggression.” If he is serious then we are seeing victim culture reduced to its logical and absurd end.

Funny! About as un-PC nowadays as the original version of Money for Nothing.

Hope you’re right, but given we’re talking about modern academia, I fear you’re not.

<< This has GOT to be satire...Right?

It sounds like something James O’Keefe would do to poke fun at the whole “microagression” thing.

Did you ever see the youtube of O’Keefe registering a complaint with his college cafeteria management for serving Lucky Charms cereal, which he claimed was bigotry towards him as an Irish-American? He secretly filmed the meeting at which he aired his grievance. Funnier than hell.

““My peers make a spectacle of it,” Patton painfully recounts. “‘Pull my finger,’ they’ll tell me… Then they fart. Every time they ask me, I do it, and they keep farting. I don’t know why. It must be micro-aggression.

And for this level of banality, parents pay tens of thousands to send students to Princeton. What a waste.

They keep it up, and we’ll need to skip right over macroaggression...

“Original” version of Money for Nothing??

Does this mean the song has been changed?

PS - Brothers in Arms is the very first Compact Disk I ever purchased. It was released the same day I was buying my first CD Player.

False accusations are a form of aggression, and not so "micro" either.

This pansy-assed whiner has never ‘suffered’ in his life and is now wading into the shallow end of the victim pool.

GOT to be satire...

I think this guy, a white guy as he points out, is turning the table on the fools and savages.

Just because he speaks in a proper, even upper-class manner is no cause for abuse from his peers.

Of course he's rubbing their noses in their own whipped-up nonsense but I think he's right on.

Seems like naming a kid “Newby” is a form of macro aggression that far outweighs the microaggression from how he pronounces “Cool Whip”.

Because if you’re like me, you got at least half a brain

I had a full brain when I started college, came out with half. Oh well, in America today, that is still enough to qualify me a shining genius.

Seriously, I am either a genius surrounded by tards, or I live in an alternate universe.

Micro-aggression???

Is this .327 Fed Mag instead of .45 ACP?

NOTE: I exhale CO2. That makes me an aggressor. Deal with it.

The second verse is removed by a lot of stations. It was banned nationwide in Canada for a while. Freedom of speech apparently only works one way.
