This evening I talked with Mrs. Elk. All good news. BlackElk is out of critical care, and is one step below ICU. The ventilator is off, he is breathing on his own. He is talking. In fat, he wouldn't shut up. (So what else is new?) Brain is all there. Feeding tube is gone. He will still need dialysis regularly, and will be in a nursing facility for a while. He may not have to get dialysis for the rest of his days, though.
Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. I hope to talk with the antlered one soon.
Good news for the New Year!
Tell the Elks we are so happy fot them.
Prayers continue for our friend.
I will relay that to BlackElk. He has been to the nursing home and back to the hospital. The infection is stubborn, but he is not in danger of death. He also is not yet in shape to be sitting up and typing at the keyboard, but it should be just a matter of time.
Please tell him hi from me.
It will be a great day when we’re able to hear from him.
Thank you very, very much.
Haven’t heard anything for a long time.
Any news?
As it turns out, I just talked to BE tonight for over an hour. His numbers are generally better. He was going to go home from the nursing home yesterday, but they decided he needs another week of physical rehab (walking) to build his strength back up. He knows of and appreciates all of your prayers. I mailed him a print out of everyone’s comments, but he has not received them yet.
Awesome. Thank you so much.
BlackElk is back home from the nursing facility. He was literally moved to tears when I sent him the print-outs of all your comments, especially those who had such kind and prayerful thoughts after a contentious back-and-forth.
It will take him some time to get caught up on his pings, and he never did figure out how to make his own posts, but when he is ready, he will write up his own thank you to all of you.
BlackElk is back in the hospital. Blood pressure dropped to a very low level. Prayers welcome. Mrs. Elk send her thanks for kind Freeper responses.
