The Department of Defense will no longer call captured terrorists "unlawful combatants," but will now refer to these people as "unprivileged enemies."
In a joint publication released this month, terrorists captured and detained by the United States will no longer be called "unlawful combatants," which is now apparently an obsolete term.
Instead, a more polically correct term, "unprivileged enemies," has been chosen.
The manual explains, "Belligerent. In general, a person who is engaged in hostilities against the US or its multinational partners during an armed conflict. The term belligerent includes both privileged belligerent and unprivileged enemy belligerent."
It also includes this chart to explain the change:

I’m usually for funding the Defense department. However, the fool that came-up with this PC formulation not only needs to be fired but also they should be flogged.

CWII Spark This new phraseology is disturbing; I dont see it as inconceivable that the privileges could be denied the average citizen.

THIS HAS GOT TO BE A JOKE!!! Wouldn’t Hagel go along with this? Is that one of the reasons he was fired??

The only good unprivileged enemy is a dead unprivileged enemy.
And one further correction:
illegal aliens are not immigrants.

"Belligerent" is just so...so judgmental. I'd feel a lot more comfortable if they'd call them "meanies."

If there is still anyone out there who denies that the Department of Defense is bloated, here is your proof. War fighting is taking a backseat to social welfare and reeducation programs run by lawyers and sociologists. Give them more money and you will get more of this. But it is a much kinder, gentler atmosphere for women and children. First comes downsizing, then the dismantling. The new military that rises from the ashes will be aimed at us.

The chart actually makes some sense.

The term belligerent includes both privileged belligerent and unprivileged enemy belligerent."
This might be good, if "unprivileged" status puts them in the same category as spies, saboteurs, and enemy soldiers out-of-uniform.
