One wonders whether she did this out of devotion to her fuehrer, or she was preoccupied with the fate of her family had they been captured by the Soviets.

Probably both, certainly they had to know about what the Soviets were doing. There was another good movie on that subject called, "A Woman in Berlin."

Come on, which lines were good in there and which fell flat?

Yes, the sight of her force feeding her children the cynaide capsules as they slept was quite unnerving and difficult to grasp.

Are you kidding? That was the one feel-good moment of the whole film.

Payback for all those midnight wakeups and feedings and diaper-changes.

I used the pause button to read the text. The text was hilarious and gut punched racists like Al Sharpton good.

I remember watching Johnny Shoestring and Susie Soapsuds read the unabridged version of A Tale of Two Cities, in three minutes on a late night commercial.

Most of Magda’s children were daughters.

And we all know what Soviet troops did to young girls and women as they advanced into Germany.

Joseph Goebbels probably would have been hanged at Nuremberg had he survived the war. Magda and the girls would have probably been raped and imprisoned.

My feel good moment during the film:

When AH was screaming at his generals saying I should have done what Stalin did and had all my generals shot.

The only question is I have the feeling the Soviet higher-ups probably issued directives to leave the kin of the highest Nazi officials alone. They had to be concerned with their post-war image after all. Now for the ordinary German woman, they certainly would turn a blind eye.
