Bill Cosby has been revered for years as a comedian talking about his youthful experiences in a black neighborhood. His stories are peppered with descriptions of the quirky personalities of his friends, most notable among them, Fat Albert.
Why is Bill Cosby suddenly a bad guy? There has been extensive media coverage, over the past few days, with at least six women now accusing Bill Cosby of sex crimes...purported to happen a long time ago. It has become typical in these kinds of cases for one person to speak out then have several accusers pile on after "consulting their attorneys". The examples of Herman Cain and Clarence Thomas come to mind.
Coincidentally, a few things they all have in common is that their accusers waited years to make the claims and they are all, Cosby, Cain and Thomas, successful black men who have "broken the mold". As a matter of fact all three have been criticized by activists for not being black enough. Specifically, Cosby has made the speaking circuits for some time now, scolding the black community, particularly the youth, about the loss of values in their segment of society and has advocated reform.
It is possible that he is not person we saw publicly, but, the treatment he is receiving by the media is typical of the type that was used to try to destroy the reputation of Cain and Thomas when they were soaring with higher aspirations. That appears to be more than coincidence.
I dunno. I remember way back when I lived in the Philadelphia area the regional transportation agency (SEPTA) staged a fake bus accident with no one on the bus. Several hundred people came forward to claim that they were injured in that accident (and were promptly busted).
I suspect that the first claim against Cosby MIGHT have some merit, but the rest are probably just people hoping to cash in with a quick settlement.
People accused Clinton of rape too. Brushed under the carpet.
I am simply saying that for those who have not been paying attention, Bill Cosby is really Dr Huxtable. And Fat Albert.
When the reality does not match the expectation, there is dissonance. That is what is happening to Cos.
Yes, he has been accused to rape. The only thing keeping him out of jail is that a lot of time has gone by.
Rape, or even just multiple accusations thereof, tends to turn public opinion.

Evidently you are male, and have no clue about the horrible after life of rape or molestation...the man has committed terrible crimes...period. Any respect he once had is gone for women.

Rumors about Cosby being a scumbag have been around for a long time, especially in show biz circles. He settled a civil case in 2005 because 10 other women were about to to be added to the suit. These same women are the one publicly hammering him now. The Left has been disenchanted with Cosby for a while over his off-the-reservation views, but he also campaigned for Obama. The political revenge angle is being over-played by some conservatives in my view, given all the other reasons this story is appealing to them media.

I struggle with the accusations. Had this come up about 7 years ago, I may have given more credence to the accusations of the past. But with the state of highly coordinated smear campaigns that have become the order for the day when a “target” is identified by the media, the left, the victims, etc. I am more suspicious of the BS.

It started because some black comedian in Bill’s hometown of Philadelphia brought it up in a routine, and the media latched onto it, and it went viral.
It has to be rape-rape for him to be a bad guy, I think.

Cosby is a moderate, currently pro zer0 (because of race I assume ) but who has often spoke out against blacks who do not take responsibility for their own actions.
I can see him being framed and defamed like they did with justice Thomas.

Because Cosby went to the Twitter World and invited them to make Meme's of him. After a few used it an opportunity to criticize him in this way, it took off with many others. Too much exposure and the media can no longer ignore it.

Because the one thing the Left hates most is a black conservative, and they found a skeleton in his closest.
There have been women who, for years/decades, have accused Cosby of sexual assault. This is nothing new. He paid off several years ago, too. It just resurfaced because one comedian recently made jokes about it & his act went viral.

It's also been known - for years - Cosby was an adulterer who paid off at least one love-child to keep her quiet.
Boy is he strict.
