There's a meme that's been going strong on Reddit's Florida page all summer. It shows Rick Scott and Charlie Crist side-by-side with the caption "Giant Douche Versus Turd Sandwich." That South Park reference seemed to resonate especially in Democrat-rich South Florida. As Riptide noted yesterday, local Facebook feeds and Twitter updates were rich with cynical "Why bother?" messages because of the matchup.
Sure enough, Miami-Dade had the worst turnout in Florida yesterday, with Broward not far behind. In a razor-tight election, the result of that voter apathy in those left-leaning bastions became clear by around 10:30 last night: Gov. Rick Scott had won. Congrats, South Florida apathy!
Look, if you were truly backing Governor Scott -- despite the laundry list of failures as state executive, from openly mocking Sunshine Laws to handing a comically conflict-of-interest-tainted slow-train contract to a company with ties to his chief of staff after turning down federal funds for a real high-speed rail system -- hey, that's your choice.
A couple hundred thousand people statewide also found a constructive way to critique the matchup by casting a ballot for Libertarian Adrian Wyllie. Also a totally defensible choice.
It's the tens of thousands of voters in South Florida who can't stand Scott but decided that not voting at all was a way to lodge a protest against Florida's Democrats running out an orange retread like Crist that are the truly frustrating constituency in this race.

Now the liberal maggots in Florida know how conservatives feel every four years.
This is most likely a good gauge of what the 2012 election turnout would have looked like without the voter fraud.

The left is apoplectic that Scott was re-elected. Their alternative was Charlie Crist. How is that any better? A political seesaw vs. a business man who supposedly bilked the government out of money; seems intellect, no matter how morally ambiguous, makes for a better governor than a political hack with no moral compass.

Do not say any premature goodbyes to Charlie Crist! I have it on very good authority that he will run for Senate on the Green Party ticket. This conscience-driven change of party affiliation has a much more personal side, too. He is so upset by the GOP War on Women, and by the wanton murder of the innocent infant, Trayvon Martin, that he will run as a woman, and as an African-American. You heard me, as a Black woman.
I know I can count on your joining me in support for the new Charlie Crist, a man who has the guts to change from Republican, to Independent, to Democrat, to Green and from white gay guy, to white straight married guy, and now to Black female of an orientation TBD.
What a person! To all of you members of the VRWC out there I say, "If you don't like Charlie Crist right now, wait a minute!" If he can change, you can at least consider it!
The meme is being solidified among the Left that Obama’s “2/3 Silent Majority” should be interpreted that his ideas still have wide popular appeal… Some former supporters likely just don’t like what he’s been doing —for whatever reason— and simply sat out rather than pull a lever for the R/C.

Change yacht clubs immediately! You have been too close to the St Pete Bayfront for too long, as your detailed and accurate picture of Orange Man illustrates. It is not healthy to observe things like Orange Man walking amongst the normal.
Of course, it might be cheaper to just install self closing hinges on the St Pete ‘Locked Ward” doors. The present security team arguably must be seriously color blind if they can’t recognize Orange Man as he minces his way out of the open Locked Ward door.

It is a real shame that Barry seems intent on making the unfortunately named Loretta Lynch AG before Charlie's medical team has completed the process. "Charlene" woulda been perfect!
