After staking out what some have deemed to be a defiant position at his Wednesday press conference, Barry will be meeting with Congressional leaders later today, including presumptive Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, (R-Kentucky) and the Speaker of the House, John Boehner.
Also in attendance will be the current inn-keeper of the Senate Roach Motel, Harry Reid.
Where Bills from the House of Representatives check in, butt they can never check out (SNIP) (h/t Mike Huckabee)
Harry is appearing today under protest, as Big Guy had assured him repeatedly that if you like your Senate Majority Leadership, you can keep your Senate Majority Leadership.
Hey, welcome to our world Harry!
So we dont expect a lot of cooperation there. Ditto John Boehner, whos already gone on record dissing BHOs assertion that hes going to pursue executive action on immigration before the end of the year if need be - in that low key, totally non-defiant way he has:
Im warning you amigos: youve got 6 weeks to pass immigration, after that my pen goes it alone.
The Speaker responded:
Boehner said the issue has become a "political football." Obama is said to be looking at suspending deportations for millions. To the president, Boehner said: "When you play with matches, then you take the risk of burning yourself, and he's going to burn himself if he continues to go down this path."
Butt not everything is looking so grim: Barry has indicated a willingness to meet with Mitch McConnell on his own turf: offering to hit the Kentucky Bourbon Trail with him. Thats good because everyone knows you catch more flies with sour mash than you do with sour grapes. So I say, lets hit it!
Otherwise, you know how those angry Teahadists can get;
Beware the grapes of wrath once they decide to fight fire with fire
theyll start making all sorts of unreasonable demands like secure the border, end illegal immigration, and deport all illegal felons.
So have a shot or two of good old fashioned American bourbon Big Guy and chill awhile. Put your matches down, take your feet off the desk and step away from the pen. Perhaps President Obama could even benefit by taking his own good counsel (from a podcast in 2006 discussing the 2006 midterm results):
Obama concluded with a warning to the president, "if President Bush is stubborn, refuses to take signals from the election that the American people are looking for a different approach, then we could get bogged down and not make progress."
I guess thats unlikely, butt as the author points out:
Nobody expects President Obama to take Senator Obama's advice, but it's always fun to throw the words of an insincere charlatan back at his face:

The Republicans should have ordered it be open to the press.
“Bring back my majority” Lol never Harry!
The “new management” will just put up a pretty new fascade and pretend its real. Its still a failing business until such time as someone gets serious and brings in some heavy equipment and does a major renovation. That takes a lot of work and commitment. Based on past Republican history, I’m not sure that’s going to happen anytime soon.
this article might be funny if the Democrats weren’t about to push through 50 nominees the Republicans don’t want, including about 30 judges.
Agree. From what I’ve seen so far, the Republicans are not getting off on the right foot (so to speak—pun intended).
Yep, just because you have a bigger army doesn’t mean you’ll win the war. Lots of other factors come into play to determine who is victorious.
The new guys need to try and get a few Democrats on the most outrageous stuff against Obama to get a super majority to bypass the President.
Also they should take notes and run against the remaining Democrats that continue to try and back bad Obama policies.
Keep a long line of new bills Obama can veto so he legacy as a left wing tyrant can be sealed into history.
60 votes in the Senate, and we can tell the POTUS to sit down and shut up!
I hope the Repubs get mad and walk out on POTUS today.
Time for Dingy Harry to go to the back of the bus. LOL!
“The Republicans need to understand, this is WAR! No Prisoners, start working on getting 6 Democrats to JUMP SHIP to the Republican side of the Senate. Ask your self, what would Frank Underwood do?

Does the cloture rule change by the dems last year lower that to 51 votes now ?
Republicans are TOO NICE!
Sorry, but to override a presidential veto, it takes 2/3 of both the House and Senate. So we need 67 senators not 60.
Here’s The DemonRat Route Back To Senate Control In 2016 a la HuffPoo ...

Bear in mind, Dingy Harry is up for reelection in 2016 and he may not be as supportive of The Won during this lame duck session after having been thrown under the bus and losing his Majorityship.
The last vote of the exiting Democrat Senate will be to change the cloture threshold back to 60.
and the first vote of the new Senate would be to change it back to 51 votes again.
