Guess we can thank our lucky stars (or charms if you prefer) that it wasn’t named Rebel Station huh?

Lol! Yeah, they should have rebuilt Union Station as a mud hut with a grass roof ... you know, like all those landmark train stations in equatorial Africa.
This goes beyond the absurd into the delusional.

Obviously the author knows nothing of the history or approach for architecture.
It's design is an "Architecture of exclusivity," he writes. "The symmetry, arched windows, ornate cornice and stacked, stone walls have their roots in the glory days of France, England, Greece and Rome, in empires that were nearly absent of ethnic minorities," he continues.
"Yes, that's all in the past; things have changed," he concedes. "But the $54 million renovation of Union Station doesn't take that into account. It restores the symbols of an old world with no updates." And what else is missing? "There are no giant sculptures by African-American artists bonused into the lobby, no murals on the basement walls," Rinaldi explains.
Does he advocate dirt floors and oil lamps? No, that's also old. Does he want angular concepts and bright colors? Or is that too yuppy and modern? Indeed, the left has gone loony tunes.

The planned that it would be a white place even from the beginning, as we can tell from this artist's rendering:

Well sure this makes sense. There was a thread yesterday about non-contact rape, so why not racist arched windows?

So, what’s he want to do? Break some windows, scuff up the floor, and adorn the walls with graffiti so blacks feel more comfortable?

The posters so far are talking about the architecture, but they are missing the obvious. The station is WHITE.
To: therightliveswithus
Well, we could try making the thing out of mud bricks but I don’t think it would last very long.

... have their roots in the glory days of France, England, Greece and Rome, in empires that were nearly absent of ethnic minorities... Wow. It's a good thing the English language doesn't have such roots, or it would be racist just to talk to someone.
No, wait a minute...

They worship it.
The sign of a very sick society.

Maybe if it were festooned with vulgar graffiti and some loose hubcaps.
