This Muslim Woman Tried to Wear Her Veil in Public…But She Wasn’t Expecting This to Happen

Since 2011, France has enforced a so-called “burka ban” on Muslims covering their faces in public, making it the first European country to take such measures against publicly-demonstrated Islamic dress codes. About five million Muslims live in France.

Offenders in and around Paris usually receive a fine, but on Oct. 3, the ban reached a new level of enforcement, as a Muslim woman was kicked out of the Bastille Opera house after refusing to uncover her face. Performers of La Traviata didn’t notice the woman until the second act, at which point they refused to continue performing until she was removed, reports Mad World. The show’s director, Jean-Philippe Thiellay, said that the security guard first informed the woman of the ban and then asked her to either uncover her face or leave. This was the first known instance of a burka-ban offender being kicked out of an artistic venue.

After news of this incident, France’s Ministry of Culture has vowed to institute a new set of rules to make sure that the ban will be strictly enforced in public institutions, like museums and theaters.

It’s interesting that France has made such a strong statement against this public display of religious orientation. The U.S. has not implemented a similar ban because of First Amendment considerations, even in the face of escalating threats from radical Islamists. But there’s nothing that guarantees anyone the right to practice his religion on someone else’s property, so maybe following France’s lead on this one in the private sector is a better way to go than walking on politically correct eggshells. We Americans seem seem to be experts at that when it comes to all things Islam.

This Muslim Woman Tried to Wear Her Veil in Public...

This MORMON woman tried to enter the Temple, while NOT wearing her 'garment'.

Do you know that she has been to the temple?
I don't know the Maldonados but maybe you do.
I noticed her tank top in the picture, but I didn't judge her, because I don't know if she's been endowed, and even if she is endowed I don't know the circumstances under which the picture was taken.

Most are offended until they learn their true history.

Believe it or not, I have seen women in burkas in Houston. There are a lot of muzzies here.

I lived in the town that held the distinction of being the Grand Dragon’s home, in Calif. They displayed BOTH flags, alternating on street corners, first Old Glory, then the Stars and Bars.

Is it, today, a ‘lost cause’ of arguing States Rights vs Federal Overlording, with the likes of that Queer-in-Charge?

Seriously? Not the black abaya but the blue burkha with the grill?

Yes but not a lot of those. They are a lot with the abaya though. And even more with just the head covering. There is a mosque two blocks from my house hidden between a cell phone store and a nail salon. The door isn’t marked at all.

We only lived in Houston for just over a year and moved to Pearland (where we lived before) over the weekend. We never saw any muslim garb in Pearland before BUT not that we’ve moved back I saw several at Wal Mart over the weekend. Not the full burka just the abaya or the head coverings. There were a couple of women who were with the husbands. They were walking behind him with their eyes on the floor the whole time. I kind of felt sorry for them.
