.22 Teaser in Oklahoma

I was traveling South on Highway 75 in Atoka, Oklahoma, when I saw the sign pictured above. I couldn't resist stopping and finding out if it were true. I have been saying that the ammunition bubble was going to pop, and I have been seeing a bit more .22 ammunition available than a few months ago.
The sign was for The Pawn Ticket, and it was open.
Once inside, I was informed that they had run out of .22 ammunition the day before. They were selling it for $85 a brick (500 rounds) or $10 for a box of 50. Those prices are a bit high. I have seen .22 ammo in a gun store in Yuma, Arizona, for $3.19 a box of 50 just a month ago.
The shop has only been open for a year. They had a nice selection of used guns, but I had miles to go and commitments to keep.
About twice as many guns were stored in a more secure room. A customer posed for the photo.
I wish them the best of luck. Starting a new business is never easy.

.22 ammunition may be becoming more common, but the Ebola situation is likely to keep the bubble from busting.

BUY ATK stock. They own the .22LR market.

I saw a similar sign here in northern Arizona the other day. I can’t remember which store it was.

I bought 500 rounds a few years ago for less than twenty bucks.

I don’t care for Dicks Sporting Goods since they caved to the anti-scary looking gun crowd, but they recently had Remington .22s for $25/brick here in central IN. One per day per customer. Since I was working close, I hit it 3 days in a row

Still dirt cheap. They are spinning off divisions. The rocket group will probably be bought. Next buy point is a close over $142 is you want to wait. Then double up. $250 by end of next year. IMHO.

I am proud to say that I will never have to buy .22 ammo again for as long as I live. Bought it about 10 years ago and my brain seems to think @ > 7 bucks a brick.

CCI is reportedly manufacturing 4 million rounds per day and can’t keep up with demand.

20 cents per round is astronomically high. You can get 5.56 NATO for 35 cents per round.

Indeed. I can make .223 for 31 cents a round, with found brass, and the chinese stuff is cheaper than that.
To: Blood of Tyrants
I mean the Russian 5.56 not Chinese.

Local WM in central PA finally had some boxes of CCI x100 the other day @ $7.50 per.

$85 per 500? I can understand why they have 22lr.
The local Walmart has been getting a shipment almost once a week now. $24.97 for Winchester 555 packs.

$85 a brick is really expensive. Before things went nuts I remember paying around $20 and would toss a couple in the cart every time I went to Cabelas. I managed to put back nearly 10,000 rounds that way.

Last time at WM, there were 6 boxes left. And immediately after I asked for 3, someone was waiting for the last 3.
CCI 40gr 100 box x 3 $7/ea.
Outdoor world/Bass pro shops seems to have it whenever I go shooting there. Also do archery there on Fridays since women are free.
