Per usual, no one knows what to make of us. Our parents scorn us, then praise us. They lament over our technological dependency, then ask us to set up their iPads. They tell us were lazy, then ask us for a loan.
Our generation is an anomaly. We refuse to do things their way, so they call us entitled. We refuse to sit in cubicles, so they call us spoiled. We refuse to follow their plans, so they call us stubborn. What they are slowly realizing, however, is were not lazy, stubborn or entitled. We just refuse to accept things as theyre given to us.
We refuse to accept that life must be dictated by a job we hate. We refuse to go to work in suits and ties when were more productive in sneakers and graphic tees.

Lauren LMoney Martin grew up with one goal: to be the first woman engineer. Upon finding out there already were women engineers, and unable to pass Calc 1, she chose to study the beautiful and honorable art of advertising. After advertising proved uninspiring, she attempted a career in acting which was over before she could get on stage. And when she failed at everything else she decided to become a writer.
So she's failed at everything she's tried. And she's the voice of the millennial. LOL
I read an interesting article about "Millennials" that listed a number of social/cultural trends among them. Two of them really caught my eye:
1. Millennials are not big advocates for the environment (most of them don't give a crap about it).
2. Millennials do not gamble very much, which is one reason why the casino industry is in trouble.
56. We HATE the older people...but we need our mommies to be helicopter mommies and call our boss if he’s mean to us.
57. We won’t know what to do if our parents die and don’t leave us the house.
58. We aren’t afraid to quit...but we quit everything not just the stupid stuff.
The author forgot to add “free love.”
“Old man sitting at a bus stop. Kid sits down, says Old man, you didnt grow up with laptops, the internet, cell phones.
The old man smiled. He said, Youre right. We had to invent them. What have you done?”
That is so true, but people tend to think the younger generation only knows tech.
~Sounds like it was written by a kid in junior high.~
It seems like they would stay like that into their 40s. Still at their parents’ basements at the time.
These may be the same list of 50 virtues that made Zimbabwe a superpower.
