Prayer warrior ping...please lift Spiffy up in prayer that God will open the doors for a new job!

Spiffy...God bless you while you lean on HIM for guidance in your job search. Have you applied for unemployment? I know many frown on that, but it pays the bills for a bit... and if you are actively searching it can be considered just a step on the ladder upwards! I will keep you in my prayers!

If something happens to me here which I will know in a couple of months since a mass cull is coming, that is where I will aim.

I, too, am in a quagmire. During this time, it always changes, I have made my motto “The Joy of the LORD is my strength.” Praying that you come to see his hand in your life every day and that you experience the joy that gives us strength to continue.

Also, listen to one of my favorite songs, “My Wish For You” by Rascal Flatts. I sing it to my son when I hear it (changing wish to prayer) but there are many here who are praying this for you.

God bless you by glorifying His name through your life.

We moved from OKC to Brazoria County Texas in 1973 so my husband could go to work at Dow Chemical. We were new college grads. It has worked out well for us!

Jeremiah 29:11-13

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

God will provide while you are out of work but He might be sending you a message about your relationship with Him while you are on your knees so listen closely.

In my case, it took losing three jobs and a great deal of self-pride before I “got it” and then another year of being out of work before I had another job then another nine months before I had a job that paid close to what I was making when I was laid off.

I know godly men who have been out of work even longer. So begin by confessing your sins (make an itemized list), dig into the Scriptures and pray for the cleansing of the Holy Spirit and direction for whatever He would have you do with the next step in your life then wait.

Lord Jesus, help “spiffy” to understand your purpose for this job change and help him to become reliant on You for his needs and grateful for whatever You might reveal to him. Move him in the way that You would have him go. Allow him to shed the things in his life that you find unnecessary so he can focus on his walk with You before returning him to the workforce in a capacity that serves Your purposes. In Your Holy name, we pray. Amen.

Father I just ask that you open a door for this man. I don’t know him but you do. I don’t know his needs but you do.

You have always done this for me and now I ask that you do it for him.

In Jesus’ name.

Thanks so much everybody. The first item on my to-do list today was to request prayers. Since then, I’ve accomplished several other items on the list as well. Moving forward.

Be sure to take the Civil Service and Post Office exams. High scores get rewarded. Good luck. Don’t be afraid to re-locate.
