The danger of EBOLA infection to our Armed Forces members is too great if they are deployed to the ground in West Africa . It is NOT their mission ! We put them all at unique and deadly risk , and an exposure that risks bringing Ebola back to the homeland as well . NO BOOTS ON THE GROUND IN WEST AFRICA

There are things they can do.
Send CAIR and the UN. This is just stupid, stupid, stupid.
I think they should fund Africans to do as much work as possible. After all, the median wage there is just $200 a month. So they can hire a lot of people to enforce quarantines, and do other work. And their economy has been ravaged by the disease, so this would help in more ways than one, while keeping our men out of the danger zone.
Please raise your hand if you think anyone in the white house gives a rats a$$ what we think about anything.
Besides, I’d be afraid of getting a virus if I went to the White House website.
The only thing I could possibly come up with for a military reason to have troops in an Ebola area is to ensure that the thermal sterilization of the infected area and all of the hosts is carried out completely and properly. I certainly hope that these troops all get issued flame throwers.
Can mankind stop the wind? Mankind cannot stop Ebola.

Call your reps and tell them not to fund this ridiculous adventure.
This is no job for the military—this is insanity.
If the social structure breaks down in Liberia, are they supposed to gun down the rioters?
The Army does not have enough personnel properly trained to be in a “hot” zone.
The negatives far outweigh the positives.
Maybe I am a bad person for saying it aloud, but isn’t this a possible way to bring this disease back to the U.S. It certainly is a risk.
Good point.
Medics, Corpsmen, and many have riot training for marshall law. Don’t know how you can do all the building and keeping people out in hazmat gear. Plus the hazmat gear gets contaminated.
I was just wondering if the executive who gave this order has a strategy for containment or hopefully someone came up with one years ago in a sci-fi book.
Are you kidding. All we will get (besides Ebola) are Senate and House hearings in 2016 about the failure in West Africa, if there is time after the Bengahzi stuff.
He can't ORDER the CDC, the UN or the WHO to go- they aren't sending thousands (THOUSANDS) of people because they values those lives too much to risk them
Nor do they envision themselves enforcing (lethal force) a quarantine on infected Africans - cities and towns turned into prison camps for the infected, the dying and their families
He cant ORDER anyone else in his government or the world to go build “field hospitals” capable of meeting Biohazard 4 level protocols
Pressure suits for our troops deployed to a 3rd world equatorial zones. I think not. Can you see Bubble Boy as a sentry to guard against mobs and looters of a hastily constructed 1,700 bed hospital in the heart of Liberia - epicenter of an epidemic that could affect 22 million people? Ready for pictures of white US Army troops holding at gunpoint (or worse, shooting) desperate black Africans with babies in their arms? Or backing up Liberian soldiers as they do so? While the Army tries to be “House” and “Meals on Wheels” for people who could infect them with a touch
what could possibly go wrong
This is what idiots voted into office AGAIN in 2012..................
America is so screwed...........
nec aspera terrent !
no fear on earth !

Given the timing of this sudden urgency requiring a military response . . .I suggest this has more to do with the annual Hajj to Mecca which is scheduled to begin 10/1-10/6.
Because of this coincidental timing, yes, I agree, let the believers handle the security issue 'plaguing' the keepers of the holy places of Islam.
American troops are not a disposable commodity for the House of Saud to play or experiment with. ..at any price! If the House of Saud wants to maintain it's credibility as keepers of the holy places of Islam, have their own Saudi military perform the security measures in these African nations. That the Hajj remains ebola free is their problem. No unbeliever is permitted access to those places, so the Sauds and their fellow believers should put up or shut up.
Americans will never be willing to supply Islam's collateral carnage to save their interests which are antithetical to ours.
Or the Peace Corps or UN troops. Why our military?
Typical. Everybody’s just fine with sending somebody else’s sons and daughters to some pest hole to get shot or get sick and die. No thought at all for them or their families, just items to be expended and forgotten.
Apparently wars aren’t enough to kill our few brave kids off - now we have to send them to Disease Central with little or no consideration about if or when we can bring the survivors home.
Somehow we always elect leaders who have no qualms about wasting our volunteers - but somehow missed the opportunities to serve in harm’s way themselves. Big surprise.
